I used to work with a guy that had one, they are quick and probably is the only 306 I'd even consider buying.

There quicker than a 306 d turbo from the line but bid range punch my friend beat her work colleague's 306 gti-6.

there alright, pretty fast

i have 2 mates with them, one has gone through a driveshaft the other a gearbox

lol, a GTI-6 would piss all over a d turbo no matter, I'd love to know what all the fuss is about d turbos

I thought about buying a GTI-6 before I bought the BMW. They aren't that bad at all reliability wise from what I've read up on. They eat up the miles quite comfortably anyway.

I don't get the hype :?

They are very good engines especially in a 205 8-).

what hype? :?

The pug hype, especially with 306s

Maybe it's something I need to experience before I get it

probably a bit of a waste of time posting then seeing as the boy was wondering what a pug and specificly a 306 is like then?

there pretty solid cars with strong engines but there is an issue with mis-treated gearboxes watch out for grindin into second if you test drive one. otherwise good fun with a decent exhaust and suspension set up.

expensive for things that go wrong although mates got one on gas and well maintained seems to give him no probs my daily is a 306 hdi estate had 2 x td sports both good, all 306 seem solid petrol or diesel seem reliable ish there comfy for distance as well !

Shite interior, shite build quality, but look great on the outside and a hoot to drive. I'd have a mint one. My mate has a Xsara VTS (actually two lol) and it's basically the same car in a different bodyshell. My Polo can still keep up, despite it hacing almost 50 bhp less ;)

I'd agree with the interior its a bit plastic fantastic but over all build is fairly good. my mate has had one for 3 years and over 60k its never missed a beat, never had any major engine or drivetrain problems and from the psoc meets av been to its a fairly similar story with all the enthusiast owned and maintained ones, they may have all been lucky though.
