Jimmyboy Stathams 6n !

Featured Replies

Hey I thought i would start a new thread seening as my other one was very old and alot of work has been carried out since then. I know its not going to be to everyones taste but I'm really happy with the car and only need to do a few more little touches and il be finished :).

I brought the polo back in May 2007 with 35k on the clock . ;)

Soon after buying the polo I started working on it to make it my own.

I brought some 15" Wolfrace Asia Tech Triads (as seen in the old thread) to replace the rusty standard steelies.

I also did all the basic mods such as badgeless grill, clear front and side indicators, de-badged the tailgate etc.

With my Dad being a qualified Panel Beater, my Brother being a qualified mechanic and myself training to be a Paint Sprayer its very handy.

In June 2008 the Polo under went some bodywork and a full re-spray as the colour had faded to pink lol.

It was re-sprayed in the original colour LP3G - Flash Red.

Also in the week the car was getting re-sprayed I brought a new interior. The interior was Full Black Leather Colour Concept Recaros :) which are very comfortable ;):).

Iv done stuff to the polo whenever I can and whenever iv got the money to do it.

In the past 2/3 weeks the polo has really come along and I'm realy happy with the way its looking .

Iv finally put the Borbets on after keepin them in the garage covered up over the winter months !! lol

I went with a 195/45/14 Uniroyal Rainsport 1 Tyres which i got for £173 fitted and balanced .

As soon as I got home from work I just had to put them on straight away !!

This is how the polo looked:

Finally got the bumpers painted after sitting in the garage for many months lol.

Managed to get them painted at work one night after work and fitted the following night with help from my Dad in the dark !! lol.

After putting the new wheels and bumpers on it was in need of a bit more lowering.

So one night after work i popped round Eddies house to lower the car, even though it was cold it was worth it !!

We dropped it an extra 20mm so its sitting at 80mm (doesnt sound alot but I'm happy lol)

A pic with the bumpers on and lowered even more:

A few more pics taken on tuesday night :):

Thanks :)

looks really nice mate...like the fact that its a full family affair must be so satisfying to do it yourself! :-)

my only thoughts on it would be to lower it more..youve still got some arch gap going on there and also you might wanna look into smoothing the side repeaters off.....just a thought :-)

suprised out how different the 14x7s look compared to the 14x8s lol

yeh its really handy to have a family who work on cars and to have really good mates helping out.

i love the borbets i know alot of people opt for the 14x8s with the bigger dish but i got these for a really good price so i carnt complain ;) lol

looks really nice dude!

maybe space the wheels out?

  • Author

cheers dude, yeh I'm thinking of spacing them out soon, how much would you recommend?

  • 2 weeks later...

would probably say space them 10mm ;)

Looking Good. I love these in red but hate every other red car except Golf mk4 anni's.

8's on the rear FTW

Tip to make yourlights sit flusher!

Unscrew the thread part (the bolt goes on) closest to the boot and screw it in behind the metal hole. pushing that side of the light in a couple more mm.

^^ Hard to explain lol

this is niceeeeee ;) not a big fan of 6n2 rears on 6n's but it really suits this!

Wow! Really like this!

Looks awsome!

cheers for the comments :)

going to space the wheels as soon as possible :)

plus got plently more lined up for it I'm not done yet 8-);)

dont space them it will look gash from behind, you need to get 8's on it, go have a look at my old 6n, you will then get 8's :)
