Is it just me or do Police Sprinter van's front wheels 'pertrude' the arches? So it's okay for them but not us? Or am I missing something.

sorry didn't realise they had updated the police one yet because still see these about, also been around for years,

here's a 55 plate one.

Its never been about the wheel itself sticking out,but the tyre tread. And the entire tyre is within the arch.

The wheel bolts are not sharp objects protruding either,not as much as the windscreen wiper knuckle or radio aerial on my car,anyway.

I think the issue he's pointing out is that where you've got some on here with uber-stretch on their tyres, the tyre is in the arch, but the rim is sticking out, and the cops have pulled and warned people for that. I don't think that argument will wash though, as has been said, they'll just take your car away anyway.

They can advise you about it but as long as the tread is under the top of the arch its ok.

Tuck is NOT the new poke. :(

I'm a mid-way person, I like tuck and poke but you have to have the right wheels and car. If you just take a mk4 polo and dump it on standard steelies as low as you dare to go, it won't look good. If you do it on a mk5 golf with BBS on air ride, as seen at the Ultimate Dubs show, it does work.

I don't see how people compare and contrast tuck and poke as they are literally opposites.

Either way, as afore-mentioned, the police are, as you are more than aware, the police. This fact alone gives them the license to.."Do whatever the fuck they want" whether this abides by laws or not.

Yeah but even people with the tread under the arch and the rim poking have had trouble, just shows it's a grey area, no-ones 100% sure of the law on this so it's still touch and go..
