I have a 2000 (W reg) 1.0 mpi polo, how do I know what engine code the car has? I have heard there is a few..

Also, is this a 6N2 polo? Or is that the GTi?

i dont know much about newer polos but thats definitely a 6n2 polo. someone will know the code on here... should be stamped on the engine somewhere.

Polo's made 2000-2002 are known as 6n2, a GTi is 1.6 16v so a 1.0 MPI isn't a GTi.

I own two polos a 2001 polo GTi and a 2000 1.0 mpi polo. I just wasnt sure if the MPi polo was still classed as a 6N2

According to that list, my engine code for the 1.0 mpi could be ALD, ANV or AUC

How could I be more specific? Or would any of these engines do?

My 1.0 polo needs a new engine you see! :-)

engine code will be on a sticker in the front of the service book, or on a sticker inside the rear panel near the spare wheel well
