Tbh I'd get the dash trimmed in black alacantara, would look and feel the nuts :).

I just cant help thinking that, for the money, you could've had one hell of a (original) 6n2. Although i guess this has been asked over and over Besides - thats not the point obviously

theres no updates yet,

the dash is half smoothed but not had much time to work on it after being off sick

the point in doing this was so you see it and instantly think its a 6n2 till you find out its sitting on an R reg, only those who really know their cars will relise what i mean

it was given a good clean on saturday for being at the scottishvag meet on sunday. it covered in dust again now :( been working on a few other things atm and having a few things delivered for it

me thinks the red strip from a gti 6n2 would seperate the white abit and make it look good... just my opinion =]

time for an update

still on the hunt for a loom for the dash so till i find that i've sat the dash aside just now

since winter is upon us i wouldnt want to take it out just yet, and now we're getting ready for UD 2010 so the plans have changed a bit

First the interior is being sent off to be retrimmed

springs will be removed and coilovers fitted )powdercoated black and white)

and if the budget stretches then the wheels will be replaced

and if theres time the engine will be out and give the bay some attention

also the car has been sitting under a cover and when i took if iff today dust has got under it and lay so longs its made the finish look awfull so i spent today machine polishing and waxing the car but it hasnt been finished

only pic i took off it before my phone battery died

gt these tday from jezza off of here, front and back 6n2 door cards, front will need altered to fit right then they will be off for a full leather retri :)

What did you have to do to get the door cards to fit then as i thought the handles where in a slightly different place and are you using the electric windows off the door cards or still off the dash switches?

i think he is putting mk5 dash is well because i saw it on one picture

will this be ready for UD and are you inside? if so I'm in aswell so shall pop over and speak to you on saturday and have a nosey before anyone else gets a chance :)

the door cards went right on, i had to take off the standard 6n speaker to get it to clip in but i was replacing thos anyway, the handle works fine you just need to bend the little bar that opens it a tiny bit so it has a tight grip on the handle

unfortunately it wont be at UD, i was rushing about getting everything ordered and making arrangements for its mot etc but then i got an email from UD saying it wasn't accepted into the because its not a standard polo, if it was factory standard it would have had a better chance apparently, so i don't know how they work that out

hopefully have 4 new spacers by next week, get the springs off and coilovers on and get the HID's fitted

Lovely looking car mate! I reckon it's one of the best looking Mk5s around! Which, considering it's a Mk4, is kinda weird.

I have to ask though, wouldn't it have been easier to buy and paint a scabby Mk5, then stick an R-reg plate on it?
