fitting right now

  • Author

i think today is the day hell froze over as the polo saw daylight for the first time in 2 years and actually ran on tarmac

rear spacers were fitted but with 30mm on the rear there is quite a bit of the tyre sticking out so next the new tyres that were just fitted have to come off and drop a tyre size for some stretch

now that it I have seen it outside i will get my arse in gear to have it finished asap, going for a about an extra 15mm at the front and 10 at the back

also as there is no sunroof fitted in place yet it was a bit hard to try wash it so just left it dirty :(

looks good where you have smoothed the sill in

  • Author

That Lupo is inside at Ultimate Dubs every year!

Not my taste at all, but it's so so clean and very well executed.

can you believe it theres a change of plan, some people might say i'm mad but i found a few niggly bits i wasnt 100% happy with so decided a revamp is in order, not much exterior wis just the odd bit here and there but the other areas are getting alot of attention. sent a list of parts off to the vw dealer today and awaiting the delivery, this time its not a slow pace thing it all starts now and with everything coming quick it woll be done asap, watch out for inters this year

well though i would update the progress so far, the car is sitting on axel stands with no suspension or wheels etc, one wheel is away for the dish to be repaired, the callipers were refurbed and painted, under the car is being painted, new rear window arrived the other day, front windscreen is on order for next week, the retrim is booked just awaiting the seats and door cards to be collected, rocker cover is being re-polished, got a new Audi R8 oil cap, new breather pipes and hoses, washer bottles replaced, engine cover flattened and re-lacquered for a perfect flat finish, new lupo strikers for the doors and 4 new tyres arrived last week, but most importantly i have a custom full front end bra being made as we speak  some like some dislike but its only for protection not something thats on 24/7

no pics just now unless you fancy staring at a half built polo, expect to see it quite soon ;)

right well after a long wait i got my wheel back, not in a good state tho so it needs repainted and the dish needs some attention but i guess i will need to leave that just now, tyres go on tomorrow morning, mate from verve will be in next week to fit the coilovers and HID's

oh at these are getting collected tomorrow

going to transcal for the retrim, had the leather samples sent to me this week and thunk i've chose something stunning, should have it back next week so cant wait :D

  • Author

interior was collected yesterday and went off to transcal and from what i know its nearing half way done

also got my tyres fitted today, when from the stupid big bulky tyres down to a set of 165/45/15's so quite happy with the stretch

need to polish up the edges now as they arnt like the polished dish

wee bit of an update

got my wheel back from being repaired last week and 4 new tyres waiting to go on, the wheel came back in a really poor condition and with 2 huge scratches on the painted centre so need to redo the full wheel and re polish it all

anyway thanks to gerard for fitting the tyres in such short notice and top job aswell :rthumb: once the tyre was stretched you could see the edge of the wheel had not been touched when polished and was covered in paint stripper so because it was so visible i decided to try sort it myself, quite happy with the outcome aswell

quite a big update

been pondering for a while on a retrim for the full interior, after talking to Ian at Audio Advice he showed me some samples then pointed out a nice new Porsche smooth nappa red leather so immedietly handed over the interior witch was then sent to transcal soon after i had my lovely new interior returned to me today and it is stunnng, front seats bac seats, door cards, parcel shelf and gear gaitor all in the new porsche red, the bolsters were double stitched to give a nicer bulier looking design and transcal were told just to do what they thought looked good otherwise so they went along with the porsche theme for the seats
