Just read the whole 17 pages of this thread, all i have to say is this car looks amazing.

The amount of work that has gone into this car has really paid off, looks stunny mate :)

ok so most people wont believe this (me included) but the polo made UD, so tucked up next to the detailed guys i think it looked the best it has ever been in years

so let the pics of the changes for UD commence

first off the tailgate

i got the chance of a mk5 tailgate cheap……how could i let this pass by

so out with the grinder and welder

ec075c04.jpg

I wanted to keep the handle in roughly the same position the original VW badge was on the tailgate and the plate was placed inside the tailgate then welded in so the actual bulging piece of the handle is smaller than a mk5 so it resembles a badge more (subtle)

next up, the bonnet, i wanted to add my little touch to the bonnet but i wanted to keep my badged honeycomb grill so instead of smoothing out the bonnet notch i extended the area above the headlight by half and inch, its not a huge change but it add a different look to the front

the weld in section

next up, gti spoiler, you can only buy 2 of these, one with a brake light fitted to it and the other with a large cut out section so the brake light on the tailgate can show through, i wanted….neither so take out the brake light and fill in the holes and space

quite a big update

been pondering for a while on a retrim for the full interior, after talking to Ian at Audio Advice he showed me some samples then pointed out a nice new Porsche smooth nappa red leather so immedietly handed over the interior witch was then sent to transcal soon after i had my lovely new interior returned to me today and it is stunnng, front seats bac seats, door cards, parcel shelf and gear gaitor all in the new porsche red, the bolsters were double stitched to give a nicer bulier looking design and transcal were told just to do what they thought looked good otherwise so they went along with the porsche theme for the seats

its porsche panamera leather, was done by transcal upholsters, cost me alot shall we say

this is just a couple things i managed to get done, i have alot left to do and i think they will take it a step further

Mate, the car just gets better and better! Love the boot badge/handle mod and I love how subtle everything is and the quality of the work!

cheers guy, like i said this is just a little taster of whats to come, just about the whole car apart from the bonnet, tailgate and front bumper and being done from scratch, interior will see an update and a few more bits

the xenons are kept by for the next update ;)

I've just spent my revision time reading this whole thread from start to finish. i got your reasoning for doing up the car but how much have you honestly spent on the car in total if you dont mind me asking? it seems like quite a lot especially because of the amount of money that a paint job would cost you.

i was going to do this with my old polo but paint it green....i found the colour i wanted on a 6n2 already so thought fuck it, and bought it hahaha

and well done on the hard work mate btw!!

thanks bud

i dont like telling how much i have spent, I am a spray painter and work in our own bodyshop so all the labour is my own so doesn't cost me so its just paint and materials etc I need to pay for, the retrim was the most expensive part of the car and i'm still going with quite a few upgrades all round and a possible change of colour could be on the cards for next year now

that interior is nuts!

thanks man, appreciate it

Absolutly loved this at UD Amazing car good woork pal.

right well i hate myself for this but i decided that it had to be pulled apart again, so i'll have a few new panels, interior will have a few updates, engine bay will be getting a few new touches, a few things are being drawn up to be moulded to fit the car blah blah blah

so this week my goal is to soundproof the whole car, so started tonight with the boot, got all the pieces of dynamat extreme cut but only managed to fit about a quarter of it in before i had to leave

finally thought it was time to get rid of the RH's

been hunting for a good while for something to take my fancy but nothing really stood out much but i came across a set, quite rare and i have searched and searched and there isn't another set on a 6n or 6n2

bought them last week and they came through today, sending them to be acid dipped this week, ordered the new colour this week and putting an order for a set of custom adaptors

e2267fe4.jpg

can't wait to see them with some fresh paint :D

WOW! Got to say I absolutely love what you've done to this awesome Polo!!!

Just went through the entire thread and just got my inspiration flowing even more!!! 8-)
