I was just having a look on PistonHeads the other day and came across this.

I quite like them anyway, but I wondered what people think of this example?

Here's how the advert goes:

'I am selling this car on behave of a good mate,this Phase 1 Renault 5 turbo is his pride and joy and many hours and money has been thrown into it!

The car is almost standard apart from a few subtle mods such as:

Uprated suspension

EBC green stuff pads and vented discs

Brand new 2.5 inch turbo down pipe into a brand new stainless steel 2.5 inch side exit exhaust system

K&N induction kit

Bailey dump valve.

Also they engine has had many parts renewed which has added up to hundreds of £££.

Just had a full service so it is a very reliable car.

The body work has a few minor dents in but all in all pretty good considering its 21 years old.

The interior has a few minor rips in the seats,brand new JVC head unit with infinity door speakers, turbo boost gauge placed on the dash above the glove box.

This is a very nice RARE phase 1 which has plenty more life in it!Surprises many cars on the road!

The ad says the guy's put a alot of money into it - and i dont doubt that for a second.

Hahahahah....that makes me laugh. I have had my 5 for seven years and not once had to change the headgasket. I have done countless trackdays and visits to the pod and not sufferered headgasket failure. Of course I am going to be biased as I own one, but they are extremely reliable cars, they have been given such a bad name because of chavvy twats who get them and up the boost straight away without even thinking of uprating everything else.

I think you should get it, looks like a nice example that hasnt been overly modified, if you didnt live so far away I'd let you have a go in mine to help convince you!
