Right i Have had a lot of questions regarding my engine so thought i would make a Thread all about my AEE engine.

List of Mods so Far are :

• Phil J 4-2-1
• Powerflow De-cat
• Powerflow Cat Back
• Valver Throttle Body
• Aspiro Induction Kit
• Pikeytech Fuel Pressure Regulator

Heres The powergraph that i got at recent clubpolo RR day :

To Fit the Valver Throttle body you need to remove The inlet manifold and throttle body off the engine. Then i Using a Hole Saw cut a 62mm Hole in the existing Plastic manifold , which is the same size as the outer diameter off the existing Rubber Gasket

I then made a new rubber gasket by marking out the bottom of the valver throttle body and went to fit it and realised that the existing TB bolts are too short so had to go to local hardware shop and buy new longer ones . You will have to remove the locating pin off the top of the maifold i did this by hitting it with a chisel. The throttle body Should now bolt on and the existing plug and throttle cable re-fit the same way.

I Found that When i fitted this it ran lean so i have raised the fuel pressure by increasing the indent in the pressure reg with a hammer , But future plans are valver fuel rail and injectors along with a map !! :-D

I Had also removed the charcoal canister and then fitted my £10 (ebay bargain) Aspiro Induction kit with some new silicon hosing and attached to my drainpipe cold air feed

I had previously had the 4-2-1 fitted and the rest of the exhaust, along with the new engine cover of a later polo and i had also gave the rocker cover a bit of a clean, this is how it currently sits !!

can any other throttle bodys be used ??

dont believe so but i researched this for a while and found out that this fits so did it as they are easy to come across !!

will it run with a valver body , green injectors n a map u think ?

Yeh it will run but i dont know the limits of the current injectors , whereas valver injectors are bigger and am sure will not limit capabilities but if i was to map it would hope for between 105-110 BHP, but would be mainly for piece of mind that it is running correctly and efficiently

yeh breathes alot better and much more revy ! Would say it pulls better top end as well .

NAH its a 1.6, just a comody value cover thats all

the AFH's have 100bhp

Matt has made abround 25bhp from his mods so on a 1.4 8v you might get it to 75-80bhp with the same mods, still nothing special though.

Does anyone the torque figures of a standard valver then?

AFH (valver) - 100bhp 96ft/lb

AEE - 75bhp 100ft/lb

I spent about £550 on my engine for about 30% return

lol, it's funny because yours makes peak power before a valver really gets going

you got a nice lil dink in your power curves betweek 2000-2700 rpm that looks like it could do with ironing out.

well I'm no good with ironing so gonna give it to someone else to do !!

Then tidy bodywork then maybe sell it !!
