Hey gys and girls,

i went out for a walk with my dogs last night and noticed an odd shaped car that i have never seen before.

it was very nice i must say, walked to the back and it was a 'Vanden Plas 1500" in a royal blue colour.

just thought i would share this with everyone, an am asking if you have any information whatso ever on the car

Just a 'posh' austin allegro. Terrible car tbh. Got a mini engine though so at least it kinda reliable.

They were coachbuilders (like horse and carriage), who did a few cars later in life, then BMC bought the name and used it on their cars with specced up interiors, a bit like Ford did with Ghia (as in Karmann).

The S is silent, so it's pronounced "Vanden Plah"

My sister had one in the hideous orange colour. Took it for a drive down the back roads near her house and it was bloody terrible! Drum bracks all round

forget the haters. its the most awesome car ever made.

Square steering wheel on the early ones. lots of wood. The Vanden Plas has little tables attached to the back of the seats for rear passengers.
