I have saw a polo 6n 16v with 86k is this too high for a polo? I mean will I have loads of problems?

It has got full service history and only just had all the belts changed.

mine's just about to hit 100k

If it's been looked after there's no reason why it wouldn't last for time

200k+ i would imgaine for engines which are looked after, imo the Mk4 shell will rust before the engine fails.

Same applies to the bodywork though

My car will be 12 years old this year and has no rust.

A car will last as long as it's maintained for.

general rule is most average people do 10,000miles a year, times that by how old the car is and you have a pretty good idea.

so id say even one of the last 6n's would be acceptable on 80k especially with a fsh and a fresh cambelt

Cheers what about the gti 6n2 whats that like with over 90k? I know the gear box needs changing along with the clutch.

Always check for service history when buying a car. As long as its been serviced, Any VW engine should be as good at 100k as it was at 1k.

My brother has had two Mk2 Golf 16v's, one with 52k on the clock and one with 198k - the 52k went pop and the 200k shell rusted. Now he has one Golf where the shell is on 64k now and the engine is over 200k..........................................

My old 16v was on 135k and it ran perfect, and still put out 102bhp on the rollers :)
