165/50/15 on a 7j wheel

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find out what size tyres to put on my 15/7j ats cups,as in a previous thread i said that there is only about a 10mm gap between the inside lip of the alloy wheel and the coilover so I'm guessing that if i put 195/45s on this gap is going to be really close,so i was going to put 185 45s on but the only company i can find this size in are nankings and I've heard some bad things about there tyres so i was looking to steer clear of them(are they really that bad?),other than those the next size down is 165/50/15 but I'm not sure on how safe the stretch would be on those, what do you guys think?has anyone got any pics of the 165s and 185s on a 7j rim?someone help me out plz?

165 on 7j is fine I've had bridgstone and nankans in that size

bridgstones give you more arch clearance but the tyres dont last long at all

have a look on tyrestretch.com for pics ;)

its fine

heartagram off here put a 165/50 on a 8... just.

was a bit dangerous but it'll go on a 7 with no problems at all!

Haven't fitted them yet. I have to sort out my suspension before the tires. Planning to do that next week.

Those are ET20.

I have my raceland coilies waiting to be fitted. As I live in Finland we have these stupid rules not to go really low. Will have to get my MOT with a mild lowering and after that I'll lower it some more :-D. Basically it means that you can only lower your car max 51mm (~2") and you still have to have 80mm (~2,5") ground clearance...

That's crapola.

As for the tyres on a 7 inch rim. I run 145/55/13's on a 7, and I'm still alive.
