Hold onto your Cars People!

Featured Replies

I'm a trader in my day job, which means I have to follow the commodity markets, which is influenced with currency.

Dunno why this didn't dawn on me till the other day; when I was travelling down the M1 & I passed a German car transporter with some Audi stuff on it & an Audi Quattro with German plates strapped onto the back (but it was an British car).

I spoke to a few other people, while I have been buying stuff for my truck and they have entioned they have had German buyers coming over to buy stuff from us & take back.

The state of the currency means it is now cheaper for Europeans to come over here & buy up our cars...................complete role reversal to the last few years when it's been a bargain to go over to mainland Europe & buy there.

Does this mean some of our rare cars & top notch stuff may go across the water now???????

Your right my mate works for a race team called 'Hi-Tec junior' and they have just sold there race trailer to a german race team because they reakon its cheaper to come over here and drive it back rather than buying over there!

not cars i know but still an exspensive bit of kit!!

Definately, My mates dad had a left hooker Merc Cosworth for sale and he had calls about it over from germany to buy it!

When you would have thought that they would be cheaper over there!

Mate of mine that has helped shift some dubs to mine and elsewhere is always in France. He says loads of left hookers over here are being shipped there

Saving grace for us is the German TuV test, my guess is 50% of the cars on the UK road wouldn't pass it, especially the modified ones.

That's a good point, MOT here is a joke compared to the tests they do there.
