VW Passat 1.8 20v Sport 1998 R reg

Details

Mileage is currently 142,000 (ish, on the clocks, but really around 113,000 see below) with a FSH (if I can find it) Serviced at VW dealers up until the last 3 which were done with VW specialists. Some receipts for work carried out since owning the car and a few from before I think.

N.B.

Also note, the milage is higher than actual due to:

1. The Steelies are slightly smaller than they are meant to be, meaning it as you drive it reads more than it should

2. It had a replacement engine at around 115,000 miles with and engine of around 86,000 (which was done by G-Werks)

Colour-coded front & rear bumper, and door lowers

Colour-coded and single piece smooth front & rear bumper inserts

Audi style day light driving lights/fogs

Colour-coded side strips

Arch's pulled as required

Smoothed off rear badges and boot lock, quick switch number plate holder

De-locked passenger door

FK Euro projector lights and clear indicators

Clear side repeaters

100w Rally light bulb kit

De-badged grill

Standard and German pressed plates

Privacy Sun shades (similar and looks like window tint, but is a mesh that clips on and off, and still has the UV protection etc etc)

Shortend Ariel

Interior

Clean interior kept by a non smoker

Leather and Alcantera interior (fronts heated, but no wiring, but is available online)

Leather door cards (not fitted)

VW Leather 3 Spoke Sport steering wheel

Blue ambient interior lighting

Blue ambient door handle lights

Engine

1.8 20v 125bhp.

No mods, just looked after and serviced regulary

Handling

FK coilovers (not sure which model as previous owner fitted them.)

Rims

18" Audi A8L Monoblocks (1 of 4 sets in the country, this being the first!!) Uber rare, retailing at £3000++, running Yokohama Parada 215/35/18 tyres… They run with bolt on spacers of 45mm at the back and 25mm at the front

OR

15" Passat steelies, widend to 9.5”!! running 195/55/15 with an awesome stretch

ICE

Alpine IVA-D310R head unit (touch screen etc etc), AUX input in centre armrest) head rest screens (wired up but not fitted, chickened out of cutting the leather headrests!!), VW uprated speakers in all 4 doors

Bad Points:

The car is 11 years old, so has a few stone chips/dints as expected, nothing that noticeable at all, body work is pretty mint really!! AND the front and rear bumpers and drivers side wing will all be freshly resprayed at the weekend!!!

Also a slight chip in the windscreen nothing major and quite difficult to notice but thought I would mention it anyway…

It really is an awesome car, and has been looked after extremely well... I just dont need a big car any more and fancy a change!! Has to be a DUB of some sort though!!

They're pretty frugal engines tbh, mine's a 2.0 20v and I can easily get near 40mpg out of it.

I have to admit. The 1.8 20v is one slow old best especially in a passat and you'll not get much for a tenner either. 60 mile if your lucky. Although mate, love this car, if i had the owl do ray me, i'd buy er. looks sweet as. Wish you all the best buddy.

To be honest i have always been shocked at how quick the 1.8 20v actually is... I used to own a MK2 Golf GTI and the Passat isnt any slower at all even though it is a much larger car!!

Thanks, and it isnt that bad to insure really, well i Pay £430 ish and I'm 23, and thats with everything like for like replacement and the Audi wheels insured and covered for £3500!!
