rapidish car for under 2k

Featured Replies

Just found reason. 1.9 engines have a longer stroke so the 1.6s are perky and more revvy whereas 1.9 is more torquey. Hope this helps. Depends what you're looking for but for fun factor the 1.6 seems best.

thats a reason to go for the 1.9 if you ask me! one of my mates have had both and the 1.9 was far superior to me!

http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/PUG2058V.htm read this... really interesting website with a lot about the 205 8v gti engine (1.9) ont his particular page, including spec and how to mod! one little interesting tidbit here is that a lot of aftermarket manifolds often WORSEN the power over the standard cos peugeot flow tested it so well!

X2...what i would go with if you gave me the £2k to play with...and its kinda still a polo

is actually a mk3 golf gti 16v with a few polo bits thrown at it. wouldn't bother with the non turbo early version of the ibiza cupra.

STARLET TURBO.

rapid little thing for not alot of money.

Sure are. Theres one near me that i play with when i spot him! lol.

I play with one too at 160bhp and a 106 GTi at a 170bhp... when the dirrtbox is running that is

See how I joke about it... It actually hurts :lol:

I'm starting to feel sorry for you now :-(

Peug 205 in my eyes .. My mate has a ex trackday car running on Carbs and it was ballistic in comparison to my dads Mk2 golf Gti .. Absolute machine .. Scared the shit outa me in the passenger seat i must say ..

NOVA REDTOP MATE rapid as hell get a conversion 1 so it only says somethin like a 1.2/3 on the papers the redtops are around 160 bhp or get an old mk2 vw and put the g40 in it and tune it to fk

:smirk:

That would be the M5 to you

Hopefully got a trailer for Sunday, gonna clean the breather pipes and go from there

205 GTi :)

Ain't much difference in speed between both engines but the 1.6 might be a little better on insurance. Just stick the 15" Pepperpots on there and stiffen it up, proberbly all you need doing to it

Edit; Spelling :(

Edit again; Just found out quote for me. I'm 19, 1 crash and a SP50 (3 points) on a 1.6 GTi - Annual Payment: £3,249.79

Hope you can afford something like that. The car is on ebay for 800quid aswell :S

notice no fords have been suggested :ninja: i wonder why, but what about old, quick fiestas or escorts, they probably all in the scrappy in the sky now tho lol

There's an RS Turbo in my link mo fo :-p

sorry dirt :-D didnt notice, but look at it!! needs work and the intercooler looks crap

because all cool fords for under £2K (except the mk1 fiesta) are biger cars like, capri's, cortina's and mk1 escorts... :-p

Just ideas for the fella, teasers, you know :-p

Quick fords that are priced under 2k are best being avoided  *dreams of mint s1 rst mmmm*

True  Shhh about series 1's, I saw another one on Sunday in red  as well as mk1 escort in white with a cossie lump in it. I did cream in my pants!

or a mazda 323, the old square one....

thank me later

£500 left over to sort out any niggles.

Sha bing bang!!

Jobs a good one.

Just to annoy you picki

That's tidy, good work Demo

They always look sick in black, lowish miles, stacks of history and a nice price tag which leaves you some room to sort any troubles.

Sounds decent to me. Now where is my £1500 :-(

going to have to go witha 205 GTi i think, hopefully a 1.9 is insurance allows as they seem pretty well priced and people highly rate them, that black one is lush, shame that he sheared off a manifold bolt!

need to start saving for when i change car in august! thanks all

Edit: anyone know any good 205 forums? found one but the admin isnt accepting any new registrations for some reason

I know how wierd with that admin thing. I was thinking of looking at them and tried to join and had no such look :-(

Sheared off mani bolt would be an easy fix  little bit of a bastard but nothing insanely bad.

One thing to look out for is that the rear beam can seize. No idea what this actually refers to but i know that it costs between £300-£400 to fix. Something to think about.

Apart from that i hear they are pretty bomb proof.
