Well it sold so that tells you it is a good one! It was a standard gt turbo in december, steel wheels etc, 1st uk owner, 2 months later it was roughly 340-50bhp weapon!

Do you know what it ran on the strip?

Didnt run it mate, his old 280bhp gt did a 12.8 with a slipping clutch though.

Got an integra type R now which will be turbo'd shortly. Should be fun!

Starlet Glanza would be sweet! Was seriously considering one of these as my new car but i didn't in the end. Nippy little things and insurance is coolio!

insurance on glanzas are gay :( they dont come up on insurance systems so you could always insure it as a 1.3 and yeah they are bloody quick

dont mind big ol'cruises just insurance may be an issue!

if you want some thing cheap and rapid then get your self a saab 900 turbo, you'd still have the best part of 1k left to play with and there much better looking cars than the euro box's you've mentioned

i know I'm gonna get a right good ear bashing for this but... have you considered a mk5 phase2 fiesta zetec s? you can get a tidy one for 2k and a mate of mine just sold his all he had done to it was an aftermarket box, a homemade straight through centre section, a k&n panel filter and it was 40mm down on springs and i would say that was pretty bloody nippy! i witnessed him run all over polo valvers, a 106gti, 205gti's and vts's, it handled bloody well and it was bullet proof he drove like an absolute c*** all of the time and it never went wrong! insurance is dirt cheap too he had 3points and a ban on his licence and his insurance was still under 1k

if not though i would go for the 1.9 205gti but as a couple of people have said very difficult to tune unless you wanna spend big bucks because everything engine wise was brilliantly designed by peugeot

truth be told i would go for the pug myself but just thought i would suggest the zetec s to add a little variety lol

The Starlet GT is listed on most of the insurers systems, you could ring up and convince them to insure it as a Starlet GT facelift or something, or try Sky Insurance if you have 2 years experience and are 19 or older!

gt turbo.s do but not glanza's, yeah xcore pissrats are heavier then bora's and the bora has a PD (pump Duice) engine so they pretty quick then you get to remapping

Quick isn't a word i'd use to describe any bora tdi, even the 130 bhp ones are quite pitiful, my 318is keeps up with a remapped one...

edited because I lied - it's not a remapped 130 my BMW keeps up with, it's a remapped 110 bhp one!

I'd ring like every company there is to insure a Glanza, you could literaly find somewhere that hasnt heard of one, and just insure it as a 1.3 Toyota Starlet and give them the registration. Yeah it's an import and you'd probably want mods covered but I've heard loads of people getting it cheap cause insurers dont realise what the bloody thing is.

Love my Saab 9000 Aero, was under £2k before the 'credit crunch' and came remapped to 270bhp.

Could easily pick a similar one up for a grand nowadays. Not that cheap for parts, though GSF is a help, but does 30mpg, has tons of space, enough comfort toys for long journeys and is pretty nippy.

110bhp lump arent PD lumps though so yeha after a remap the 130's are as quick as an ST Focus

Torque goes up to or over 200ft/lbs after a remap from what I've heard, defo pull well..
