My Mk2 Saloon is at the bodyshop having its arches widend a considerable amount ..

Stage 1 is complete on the rear arches they need to find the correct angle to flare them too before they weld a sencond arch to the existing arch to widen even further..

Yep thats what there doing mate . There either using mk2 or Mk1 golf arches whichever are going to look better with the staggerd stance of the front to rear arch maybee both diffrent front to rear .

Really nervous but I'm sure there going to do a quality job .

I did yes mate but this time they have cut in alot more places flared out furthar and are welding a secondary arch to extend out aswell . Then smoothing in a spraying of course.

The guy from Arch Enemy who did it last time did a good job dont get me wrong but i needed somethng a bit more extreeme . Especialy for the fronts..

Soo much work to go on the arches yet thats mearly the easy starting point .

I'm widening my arches when i get my loon in a few weeks but homebrew styley, hammer, welder n filler

Genesis Jim - I have 7" Et-7 AlleyCats on at the mo on all around mate the mini fitmant ones with the large dish .. Alot of people are running them at the mo or similar wheels but my arches will fit plushly over them ..

Enougth room for 8's on the rear too

Jay 135 - No plans for an engine change at the mo going to get the interior sorted and a few other bits and pieces before i spend on the engine and handling fo the car . Cant afford insurance on anything worth putting in it at the mo ..

McLovin - The Midlands bloke did mine .. forgot his name .. I would advise him to anyone though to be fair top bloke ..

Updates to the Car ...

Before they started .. Arch already flared but there going to slice and dice them furthar .. Tahught the shot looks cool ...

That is the rear arch as the car is sat on the deck ... Camber anyone ???

This is the front Arch easily going to be wide enougth with the repair panels welded on to extend .. CAr is going down 15/20mm on the front aswell

Here is a side shot as such .. The rear arches will be coming out a bit more to give it more of a stagard look ..

Needs to go down on the front soo bad and it looks shite without the extended arch with a vertical lip ..

Progress is slow but i will have big updates on Friday

It is pretty savage .. lol the starting stages look scary and look like its going all wrong but once the second arch is put in place and the seams welded up it should .. i quote should all fit into place :)

Your Loon is sublime mate still waiting for the day you start work on that again or the day it randomly shows up and totally abliterates a show , hopefully bringing the Mk2 saloon into a more recognised position in the vw comunity nodoubtly seeing a few more pop up as show cars

That would of been to easy and too common in my opinion I'm going for widend but looking as close to a standard arch as possible . Smoothed into the bodywork iff you must .

Cheers dude , Wider wheels on the rear are a must some 8" Alleycats for the rear bare in mind there Et-7 ..

I think i will be able to fit 8's on the front and 9's on the back in the correct fitmant .. even wider iff i was going for banded stellies . lol
