I will be keeping them or swapping 2 7" wheels for 2 8" wheels .. Going to have to be spaced out dramatically on the rear for now until i can afford to buy something diffrent in the future ..

Iff i do want to sell them though il let you know geezer :)

I think it looks good tbf Stevie! Once you have something to fill them arches and have got the bodywork all done it will look ace.

Any look with finding any rear lights? I've had a look around a few scrapyards and cant find a single MK2 polo, anywhere.

But when I was looking for stuff for the MK3 all I could find where MK2 polos lol

Still havnt found any yet :( There are loads of Mk2's around at my scrappy but there are never any Loon's iff there are they come in with no lights or have been taken before i get there :(

interesting progress, its not got stance, or looking slammed tho... spaced out 7s on the rear will look comical aswell. correctly offsetted wider wheels will help on the back, but youll need to be cutting coils off your front and rear springs to get anywhere near a scene stance, or to even get near stancevillie.

will be interesting to see the finished product a year down the line to see how the arches have fared

Stevie, are you sure it's had secondary rear arches welded on - i'm slightly worried that your sliced and diced arches have been filled over. Are the arches having any sort of edge lip at all (like the originals)? I'm sure the job's not cheap, so definately make sure it's been done like you asked with a proper outer wheelarch skin welded to the remains of the original. It'll be a right sod to shape sheet steel in to a decent arch with a lip, what arches were they using over yours?

Hope you don't think i'm being a cantankerous old bugger, but this pic would worry me:-

Fresh body filler left out in the rain's not really a great idea (maybe it had rained and they pushed your car outside when it stopped).

I pushed the car outside to get some piccy’s I couldn’t help myself.

Regarding the arches. I will get some piccy’s tomorrow of the inner arch .. They used a universal arch instead of a vw one as the Mk2+Mk1 golf arches wouldn’t sit flush enougth unfortinatly 

IIn the picture there you can see a coat of fibreglass ontop of the welded arches before the filler is going on .. 

you want to be careful with all that fibreglass dust, it gets right up yer nose.

No Wheels as of yet as i dont have a job at the mo so the car is at a bit of a standstill will have to space these out which is going to look silly but for now it will have to be all good though until work comes along .

Wont be finnished for Inters unfortinatly .. Iff it is i will be buzzing but i doubt it i dont want to get my hopes up lets put it that way ...

Been to have a look at it today and oh my god is all i can say my jaw hit the floor !

The front looks really good!, How much filler has been used though? would concern me if your running really low.

not much filler at all to be fair there is a layer of fibreglass and the filler is used to smooth it off .. Have a look at the photo's earlier on in the thread :)

Those arches look the nuts mate, love the way they blend with the front valance. Very nice job cant wait to see it finished with those wheels on.

Ye i have been following it and yes i saw.... it still looks like 5/6mm of filler.. i would worry with 2/3mm tbh

Ure just being a hater ben .. Believe you me i would be worried if it had 3mm of filler aswell !

They are taking there time with it and have been really cautious ..

I used to live with a bloke who works there's daughter so they know its gotta be right as il be straight around his house .

It looks alot thicker in the pics as the inner arch needs alot sanding back as there painting the iner arches aswell :)

Have a little gander at it at some up and coming shows mate :)

Last pic you posted that shows the inside of the arch.

Has the arch lip been extended back into towards the car? From the outside they look pretty swish (best is how they meet the front valance) but the inside of the rear arch lets it down.

Ask them to tidy it up because you will be able to see it no matter how low/wide you go.

Aye it looks so messy at the mo inside the arch to be fair .

They have slapped a load of filler over the top of were the exisiting sliced arch and the new arch which they welded on meet . There going to smooth that into the standard inner arch and they are blowing over the inner arches too just so you would bever know there was an extension present form the inside .

Does look rather obscure on that piccy though
