Anyone ran fuel lines through the underside of the sheell and then through the inside of the car ? Legalities behind this ??

It looks like that's been pulled down by someone before (chavs trying to nick petrol?) They generally sit pretty tight to the floor.

There's no legal reason not to run hoses in the car, just make sure there's a good grommet where it passes through the shell so that the vibrations don't make the metal saw through it. Likewise, keep it well out of the way inside the car so it's not disturbed.

If it were me, I'd re route them under the car so they go down the transmission tunnel.

If you want a quick repair for now, grab some rubber fuel hose (8mm internal diameter I think for under the car, but check first). Cut in front and behind the damaged section, discard the damaged stuff, and slide the new rubber hose on and jubillee clip it.

The bit where it's gone - are there any marks on the car? I can't see any and it looks like where the fuel line should be sitting is protected by a bit of the chassis. I agree with yeti, looks like it's been messed around with.

Sorry I'm not a lover, i dont think the arches work front to back and they look too wide. But if your happy...

Thats a matter of personal opinion dude i am really happy with them as you say so thats all that matters .

It will look alot better once finished whith the right wheels ..

i like.

an agree, fuel line looks tampered.

Looking good, and i agree the fuel line looks tampered with. I'm lower than you on my mk3 and it scrapes all the way along on big speed bumps, I've never had a problem with the fuel lines :?

someone wants you deadddddd :o

arches are nice tho when the stance is sorted

Anyone else thinking mk1 escort??

how did you manage that???

you definitely need bigger diameter wheels to fill those arches! :D

you are in need of more girth out back, 9s are a must!!

Reminds me of a boat made out of lego!

^^^

Had a little play on chopashop, not really keen on the arches to be honest, they're good as they're huge :-D but they dont match (fronts and rears) and they lips are too sharp/angular if you know what i mean? so i made them with more of a rounded lip :-) and changed the angle of the fron to match the rear a bit more

Oh and i filled them too  giggity giggity 8-)

Looks better i think :-)

Walschc your a legand u really are all your photoshops of my car just make me want to change it .

Know what your sying about the front to rear arch match mate it just enables me to drive it as the fronts are a diffrent shape to acomadate the wheels turning .. Is a bit shite but in the flesh it doesnt look too bad . Will look better when i am a little lower on the front although i am an idiot for saying that as its far too low already

Worst thing is the only 13" Wheels i could get in 10J are wellers really unless ou know of any dude ?

:-D what can i say, I'm a style guru :lol::oops:

Ahh right, didnt really think about the front wheels needing to turn  oops!

Hmmm cant think of any 13x10s, banded steels?????

Why not go for 14s? :-)

I must really try a set of 14's on the car to be fair to see how it looks it will enable me to get a better stance nodoubt but i don t want to makwe the car undrivable ..

Its a case of rubbing on wheels with 14's and rubbing the floor on 13's i think

For something like that you'll probably have to space the stub axles away from the trailing arms. I bet you've got spacers on it already? The trouble with mk2/3 saloons is the arches are loads bigger on the back than they are on the front. So extending the front and rear arches by the same amount means you still end up needing wider wheels on the back than on the front to make it look right. Will having the wheel that far out even be possible? the arches are fairly horizontal, you won't be able to have much suspension travel...

  • Author

Front arches have been extended more than the rears to acomodate the diffrence in arch size .

I dont have any spacers at the mo although with my wheels being mini fitment i dont really want to wack huge spacers on ..

Are there any guids on the best way to space stub axel's mate ?

You can get stub axle spacers quite easily I think. DKnight got some from somewhere. I think he got 5mm ones but it's possible to use several each side with longer High tensile steel bolts to suit your requirements
