Here's how she started after a long clean

It's funny looking at it at stock height.

Then came the 70mm shocks and springs, I was up until the middle of the night in the freezing cold to get it all fitted the day before my test. Luckily I passed first time haha.

Christmas time! Found some sparkling diamond cut P-Sluts on stretched 155/55 Nankangs (roof rack was only temporary)

I then got a regular single light grille which had a short life on my car as I found a cheap chrome trimmed grille at Dubfreeze which couldn't be passed up.

On the way to GTI Spring

PLANS:

-I eventually have plans for a GT conversion but all in good time.

-In the nearer future I am going to sort out all of the rust, such a shame though because of the good condition of the paint

-Get my leaking fuel tank re-welded

-Un-dent the whole shell

-Mirror polish the P-Slots

-Get some sort of sound system set up

-Front lowering caps and mk1 Golf rear coilovers

-De-wiper

For now that's all I can think of. Any comments, suggestions or criticisms would be much appreciated.

alex

lovely start bud.bit risky welding the tank tho

Looks great,

Looks like mine but with far better paint. I ended up painting my front valance/panel black because it was so chipped and rusted, was easier to get a satin black finish.

Were you not talking about welding the tank before in another thread? not advisable unless flushed/or filled with the right detergent.

Cheers guys yeah I have been putting off removing all of the rust because it will mean ruining the paint which is such a shame.

Yeah it was me talking about welding the tank, but it's not me doing it personally I am taking it to a professional and I guess he knows the risks. He mentioned something about a lining in the tank, not sure if a car as early as mine will have one but if it does then that will obviously just melt and I will end up just buying a new tank anyway.

If anyone knows of a 5speed GT box for sale could you let me know. :D

I'm coming along to no-rice this evening, have been offered a lift in a mates caddy so will probably go along with him to save precious fuel and milage haha.

do you get any rubbing on the rears with the P slots?

That last photo of your is how i want to get mine looking but with black and red p-slots

Very nice Car

Ash 8-)

Absolutely no rubbing with the p's at all. There is a bit of oxidation on areas of each wheel where the lacquer has peeled off, is there anyway to kill this or am I going to have to rub them down?

lol, love the christmas tree

You polo looks really great with those Pirelli - Rims.
