Thats look cool but it is a bit deep, I did think about fitting a Passat 35i or MK1 Golf GTI front splitter to mine but I think I'm gonna leave it now.

yeh, it catches on the ground on bumpy roads. think i may leave it on there but chop it down a bit, but for a freebie i cant complain lol

I've seen a few mk2's with mk1 golf "duckbill" splitters, looks quite cool

Golf Splitters on Mk3s FTW!!! :D

how is it fitted???

Only problem is when you look at the car from an angle ...

ha ha had one on my g40 about 5 year ago , got bored of refitting /buying new ones every week . i recall just fitting a fresh one and going to get some petrol a couple of hours later on a cold day and shattering it on the way into the petrol station , think that was the last one i bothered with

terrible imo.

just a few self tapping screws through the bottom of the bumper.

yeh. i do catch it on the raised curbs etc going into/out of places.

if it breaks/comes off then i wont bother replacing it.. its jus for a short term really

i only had my 4 splitters  on for a month or so , the thing is the mk3 really does need a little splitter of some type , i`m still looking for one thats suitable . still loved the way the vr ones look , wish they did a mini one :-(

my brother had a vr6 one on his van but the snow ripped it off! my mate is after one for his cabrio golf so if u wanna get rid do let me know matey!

yeh will do mate altho mine's all hacked up now and a few craks in it.

yeh they do look good but just need to be a bit shallower for the mk3. I'm cautious of road kill now cos if theres a rabbit in the road.. it will rip it off lol

It's big! lines up with the bumper very well though!

looks poop

fake lowerage ftl lol

Its too long mate, cut it down! then lower it..

  • Author

the car is lowered bout 60/40 lol...

I am hunting for perhaps a 'guna splitter. i may cut it down but its just where to do it as it has the "groove" in the middle, may do it to there.

sorry looks daft tbf, i would rip it off asap if i were you but if you like it fair play

there isnt really anywhere you can cut it down mate, just sell it...

  • Author

yeh true. I'm still undecided about it. i think it could look good with a bit of tweaking.

its too shagged to sell, loads of cracks in it, and especially now its hacked up to fit a polo. will see. i may look a bit less out of place once i finish fitting my GT arches and sills.

it might do... but if its that shagged to sell, do you really want it on your ratherly nice looking mk3?

I've seen worse, I've probably in the view on most cp users done worse! it does make me chuckle when people come out with the classic 'from side on the front looks too low compared with the rest of it!' go take a look at the side profile of a mk1 one gold with deep chin spoiler fitted or a mk2 golf with big bumpers, both have fronts which are lower than the bottom of the sill!

If you like it then leave it on, i personally wouldnt give a shite what someone on the other side of an internet connection thinks of my car! your car looked low enough to me, when i saw you last at the oxford meet without the splitter though.

I dont get why people on here have to be so offensive about other peoples cars, have they not heard of constructive critisism?! i bet half of the people who have been less than constructive probably went out and bought a ready modded dub anyway, just to be in with the cool kids.

i didnt buy an already modded dub :) Giggity, shame on you all... SHAME ON YOU.

i didnt buy an already modded dub :)

you lie stevie! you red one was well modded when you bought it

even if it was by a brick wall

you green one is starting to look nice! the wheels suite it well
