Having converted mine from being charged to being a turbo motor I could tell you a list of positives. From better fuel economy having the ability to drive off boost to the aticipation of the turbo spool, way wayy more fun for the smaller car. Don't get me wrong chargers are fun too, turbos in my opinion are more fun and produce more power! A couple of mates of mine are doing abf turbos atm actually.

Throttle bodies may be the same price but have you factored in the decompression of the engine into the charged route? Throttle bodies would free up to 180-190hp in an ABF (from what I've read on club gti) possibly more if you tweak some other stuff.

( A mate of mine has a stage 3 TSR head, 278 newman cams, GXSR carbs and mega jolt seeing 201bhp)

Supercharging wise I was going to use a decompression plate and clamp the head down using the arp head studs, I know a decompression plate sounds a bit pikey-tech compared to low comp pistons but is tried and tested a lot on club gti along with stacked gaskets, turbo wise id go with a built bottom end, balanced crank, forged rods and low comp pistons, last time I priced rods and pistons up it was around £800, which is a small price to pay I think knowing they're up to the job

recently re-done my loom stripping everything out of it that is no longer needed since stripping the interior, was a fair bit to strip as the donor car was a five door

give me, give me, give me haha. I need the loom for the radio as mine has kind of set on fire. :(

lmao ill have to see if i can dig it out come the weekend (i have to store everything in the car and I'm only home weekends) I've literally got a bin liner full of wires / loom

made a start on the aero catches, was late starting on the car so only got the one side in and thats not quite finished yet

How did you get on fitting these? Just finished mine and they were an absolute nightmare cos of the under-bonnet skin and getting them sat right :( but all done now after a lot of fiddling around with adjustments haha

Was abit of a nightmare due to the bonnet bracing, didnt matter how many times I measured and marked where the pin would come through the bonnet when I eventually got the hole cut out and put the catch in the pin no longer lined up, then to top it off I dropped my drill and it snapped the drill bit lol which is why there's only 3 screws in the one I got done at the minute, knowing what they're like to do now I'm hoping the other side goes a little better

Finally got round to fitting the other aerocatch, possibly the best drill bit I've ever bought, made things so much easier and quicker

After having had these lying around for quite a while now I thought it was probably about time i fitted them

decided to amend the cooling the setup id originally done and swapped the polo rad for a twin core, also means the inlet and outlet on the rad are on the right side now so no faffing with long hoses etc

i didnt want to scrap the idea but i just didnt have the space or clearance for it, i think the engine is mounted a little further forward than it really needs to be, however i have masses of room at the back of the engine, right where the exhaust is... but we'll see lol

had some bits and pieces delivered over the weekend...

braided fuel hose, fuel pressure gauge, coolant hose from rad to header tank, clips for fuse box and bolts for side mounts

oil pressure gauge, still waiting for postman to bring me a T piece

spotted a bit of build up in the throttle body so off it came for a clean up

and all back together

cut the piece of arch out causing the problem and sanded the wing

arch extension and abit of "sticks like shit"

Head will be coming off tomorrow and sent to robert cox engineering to be transformed into "ultra fast road stage 2 spec" hopefully will come back looking like this
