Hopefully one day I can say it's finished, at the minute it's a case of waiting for pay day, ordering parts, then try and find the time to actually get anything productive done, keep getting loaded with work which makes getting time off to do the car difficult

I know what you mean, there's been times where its really felt like it's not going very far and times where nothings progressed at all, it is finally getting there now albeit slower than I'd like but can't help that at the mo.

Plans for the following week are to get the hoses fitted for the oil cooler and oil filter relocation, finish the other wing, remove the standard rods and pistons and hopefully (providing the postman brings my hone) hone the cylinders, but we'll see haha

It's a nice colour. Got a fair bit of work ahead of you then! I'm just building up no claims until I can put a bigger engine in mine, probably not as adventurous engine as this.

I'd imagine it's roughly the same amount of work as fitting a 20vt (mounts, driveshafts etc.) so on that basis I don't think it's that adventurous in bare form, though it is something that's a little different with more poke than the original engine, but I think (hope) it will all be worth the hassle, blood and sweat when it's finished

The figure in mind id like is around 400 hp at the moment, though in the real world I really dont know, I haven't done anything like this before so its a new learning curve for me, almost kind of seeing how it goes along the way which might not be the best way to look at it but its working for me at the minute

Been a busy few weeks with work so progress has been a bit slow on the car front, however, the inlet is now finished... minus a sand down and lick of paint

After being tied up with work and other hold ups over the last couple of months work can now finally carry on with the polo, also have a garage to keep it now, save the shitty weather from getting to it, latest purchases are 850 cc injectors and a noise maker :-D

Me too haha, garage is pretty much sorted now so should be cracking on with this again soon :-) the to do list never seems to get any smaller

They literally just pop out, use a flat head screwdriver or butter knife for a bit of leverage on the outer edge

Little update, last few months has been spent gathering parts ready to put the engine back together, as well as that there have been a few other parts purchased such as fibreglass bonnet, tailgate and doors, 6n/6n2 hybrid front bumper, ducktail spoiler and porsche brakes
