Featured Replies

Right thaugth it was about time i did one of these,

Not sure if its worthy of the members gallary so going to post it here! mods can move it if that want but i dought its worthy of it

Model: MK3 polo genesis

Engine:1043cc standard

Suspension: front 40mm lowered back no idea

Brakes: standard

Wheels and Tyres:bbs ra's (i think ) with ballon tyres 195's i think

Exterior Styling: chalk board bonnet , smoked side repeaters,

Interior Styling: Mis matched seats lol , and rubbish

ICE and Security: jcv bog standard head unit and door pod speakers and jbl sub

Had my polo since May 2007, paid £400 for it which was a fair price i think at the time ! came with 7 months mot and 5 months tax! and had 138,000 miles on the clock

after i baught it booked it in as it delevoped a mis-fire , so it went in had new dizzy cap , leads and sparks , which solved that , also had 3 wheel bareing done at the same time! got a bill for £200

then i passed my test in november so stated to use the car more, which is when it started to go down hill as i didnt have time to clean it ect,

then it went for its mot in jan 08 and failed on loads of things , i think it was 13 item in total , it needed new shocks on the front, suspension mounts welding, emmisions, hand break adjusting, cant reimber what else ! but i think they mugged me off as i dont think there has been any welding done on it as i cant see any :? , newho got another wacking bill of £350 , not including the MOT test , bastards,

then the clutch started getting heavy, so booked it in for a new clutch and full service, and a few other bits cant reimber now going back to last year

and that bill came to £300, but i have only just paid that off last month , i know the guy and he dident give me a bill for ages so dident pay !, my family owes him money for work on there cars , he just never gets round to do a bill out ,

the car stayed standard until i joined club polo ! where since i have been getting ideas and starting to spend more money on the car !

pictures

when i first got the car back in 07, looks very tidy then

P1010188.jpg

P1010187.jpg

had no dents or anything , very nice car

then it went down hill :-(

few months after passing i reversed in to a wall out side my house , twas a bit stupid as i was in a rush didnt wait long enouth for the ice to clear off my windows and the reclying people where at the bottom of the drive so i have to go around them and thats when i hit the wall, only pic i got of it is off my mates phone so its shite

Photo-0008.jpg

it dosent look to bad but cost me about £100 for a new bumber light and the paint and filler!

the dent was knocked out a bit my a mate and my dad filled it and sanded it all and my mate then sprayed it , wouldnt know it was there unless you look really hard !

my mate thaught it would be a good idea to lift the car up at the back and did and put a wacking dent in the side of my rear quarter , which is still there and i have no idea really now to get it out , or weather to fill it and paint it ,

first mod (kinda ) was to get a roof rack

i really liked it and looked good on the car , took it off tho as everyone was taking the piss out of it and damaging it :-( it will return one day once i have finished strighitng it out and painted it ...

That hole is nothing mate ...

Cut the effected area out and then weld a sheet in and underseal ..

Dont just trat with underseal / hamerite it will rot from the inside out

Get yer rot out!

Get yer rot out!

rust is lighter than carbon fiber and holes are even lighter , and it looks good,  , would it fail a mot like that

yeah i know it needs to , once i have got some lower profile tyres on there it will be slammed to the floor on some collies, when i can afford to

looking good fella, how much did u drop it by? 60mm?

did u do it urself? i did mine on my breadvan, was a complete nightmare, ended up replacing most the steering components too =(

thats only 40mm at present ,

didnt do it my self dident want to risk it as theres a lot of work involved with it and knowing my luck something would go wrong and i wouldnt be able to use it , the chap that did it said he had to put a new track rod end on , and it was the one he replaced for the mot , so a bit annoying , but these things happen !

sorry fella but u cant get coilovers for mk1/2/3 polo's unless u make then urself.

tht pic is wrong in the link and anyway if ye do get them ther a waste o money because they 1's only bring it down 75 mm wen u can buy springs that bring it down 70mm then buy uprated top mounts and shortned shockies and wich will still b cheaper

FK, H&R and KW do coilovers for Mk 1,2 and three so how can you say nobody makes them ?

If your aware the steering arms come close to the inner wing and cars lowered 60 mm or more. The inserts have little travel and you don't have much progression in the springs. Hence the reason people buy coilovers with lowered steering arms.

wow this has turned in to a debate about coilovers lol , dougt i will get them anyway , as i wont be able to get up my drive if i go any lower

awryt well first I've heard but no need for it to turn into a fucking debate.yes i know about the steering arms nut I've had no bother with mine n its down 70mm. and u dont have much progression on the spring because thers three or four coils compressed when its on the ground fuck all to do with shockies they have enuf travel.
