I'd say around 85 bhp

And "K7" chip allowing it to rev to 7000 rpm... Think someone is getting confused that's pretty much standard GT rev limit especially as the rev counters aren't the most accurate, 6800 looks like 7000...

And 727.6 kg... Wow, that's an accurate weighbridge

Giorgio's GT was a prime example of getting good power out of the 1.3 lump. Using a few mods he was pushing power that was beating VTRs, check the Mk3 progress thread for more info. It's definitely a push, but then if he has the figures/RR run results to prove it, I'd say it's achievable.

Yer...I'm sure that a 4 branch, chip and gti afm wont take it up that far....infact, has anyone ever got 110 bhp out of a gt? (without forced induction ;) )

No way in hell is 110 bhp possible from a GT with those mods. That's serious cam/headwork territory for an 8v engine.

And my mates' GT was pretty much the same as my modded VTR with very little done to it, it doesn't take a lot to get a GT faster than one.

Bollocks is it. Asking about 900quid too much also!

nah, i reckon 88bhp

karls on here is similarly modded and that see's 90 on a good day

4 Into 1 stainless steel 4 branch exausht manifold with decat - 9bhp

K7 chip (means it revs to 7,000 RPM!!!) - 4bhp

New water pump and cam belt - 9bhp

New clutch cable - 2bhp

de-wedged throttle body - 4bhp

Ignition timing and air mass meter been set to perfection - 2bhp

New leads and plugs - 3bhp

New wheel bearings on the back - 2bhp

Easy

Silly wheels on that car to be fair ..

Tried swapping 2 of his 8"s for 2 of my 7"s aparently he has a Golf now so they fit :-(

It wont be anywere near 110Bhp ..

I've been out in both Giorgio's 100Bhp+ GT and Karls 90Bhp GT and to be fair the extra 10Bhp ish Giorgio's was running at the time with extra weight .. Ie the car had 3 people in it still made a dramatic diffrence to karls..

I dont know iff that is because i was used to karls car so it seamed normal ..

I think its another case of i have a 4 branch and a cpl of lil mods and my car feels like a rocket ship ...

"Super rally special Alleycats!!!!!!! VERY RARE ON VEE DUBS!!!!" Yeah sure.... illegal on the fronts aswell I bet!

Car looks nice enough but no way worth almost 2k, guy sounds like he's in cloud cuckoo land.

I would love the guy to now show the printout to everyone who is sat here taking the piss outta him behind his back.

The guy who owns it or use to own it is on here..

Me too, but that car will never make that power with those mods.

wheres he gonna get a printout for 110 bhp from? the back of a cerial box?

if they are the only mods he has then it won't be pushing that, if he has a print out then its from a shit rolling road. didn't yoof only get some thing like 115 from his GT (without the nitrous) with a massive list of mods and bike carbs? could be wrong on that one tho as it was a long time ago, sure some one will correct me if i'm wrong tho.

i read it and thought it was a little far fetched, kept re reading the advert to see what i'd missed. lairy cam and throttle bodies will see you nearer than figure. if thats above 85bhp at the fly i'll be surprised. good luck to the guy with his optimistic pricing, i wonder what else he has lied about.

How are we doing it behind his back? He's on here...

His username is Taxi on here i think. His claims are very inaccurate and i think G40Jon used to own the car previously.

funny that the owner before that owner only paid like £90 for the car! less than 2 years ago!

dont forget the racing stickers - 5bhp ha

funny that the owner before that owner only paid like £90 for the car! less than 2 years ago!

actually i payed £100 and sold the wheels and tyres off of it for £80. now for some history........

i bought it back in 2007 i think, when we had the bad floods. and yes the car did get flooded! the car was never driven in the floods, but it was down at a garage which got totally flooded. (the car was a non-runner) i put a mk4 polo dizzy on to sort the problem, cranked the car over a covered my drive in co-agulated oil, turns out water had got in the engine! i drained 2-3 litres of water out, plus any remaining oil. water also got into the gearbox (dunno how)

Gave it a few oil changes and the car worked ok. it was never as quick as my 1st gt, but thats hardly suprising after being flooded!

the other big problem i had with the car is that it often flattened the battery, but this could have been down to the rather old audio amp i had in it (cheapo amps can actually leak charge, and i didnt use the car that often, few times a week maybe)

The new owner has also forgotten a few things about the bodywork. the car has previously had a prang, which resulted in a new wing on the driver side, new front panel and bonnet. the bonnet and wing dont match the rest of the paint and one side has a big key mark running down the rear quarter and door. You might wanna check the inside of the drivers footwell as it was a bit grotty, probably due to the front end shunt it had recieved. (its possible these bits have been sorted though as its been a while since i got rid of it.)

the battery tray has been welded, but its far from pretty and there is a slight hole which i plugged with putty in the bottom rh corner of the windscreen. it doesnt leak anymore. the reason for using putty is that the windscreen needs removing to fix properly, and the car was worth me shelling out to do that.

The bumpers are flakey to say the least and are also the wrong colour (i should know, as i sprayed them) they were originally on my other car and had been modded (swapped cos i wanted std bumpers), the new owner didnt like the mods and asked me to remove them which i did, then just rattle canned over the top, just to make them look presentable, so expect runs and a bit of paint crazing due to no prep and budget for some new bumpers

There are some holes in the floor wich were drilled to let the water out of the interior (think this was caused by the battery tray and windscreen leak)

the car is far from mint, and certainly isnt pushing 110 bhp regardless of the 4 branch manifold.

when i owned it i fitted a 2nd hand poloace chip, new rear wheel bearing DSide and some new brake pads. other than that i just thrashed it too and from work (and yes i really did thrash it, at the end of the day it was just a £20 car to me so didnt really care too much)

I swapped it with the guy who is selling this for a vw derby in need of a fair amount of bodywork, so the guy has already had a good deal as hes already sold the ats classics that the car came on and also the creme leather interior i fitted to it. i would imagine they went a fair way to buying the new mods that have been done.

it is a solid car and the wheels are probably worth 350-400 on their own and the seats would probably fetch £150. i would say the car itself is worth about £500

there is a full build thread on polo3.co.uk with loads of pics and info here
