Newly built, Heavily modified 1300 HK engine

Featured Replies

hey guys

Well since picking up and AFH conversion this will be surplus to requirements.

where do i start,

its a HK 1300 mech head engine fully rebuilt with new seals/gaskets etc

its also had/got:

New rings

one brand new piston(due to skirt damage)

new big end and crank bearings

a light hone

ported and polished head

block decked by 1mm to raise compression

full bottom end balance to what the engine shop call race spec(slightly higher tolerances)

its been run for less than 10 miles so still needs running in tbh

i also have a set of zx6r carbs and manifold which are on it which have been rejetted by bogg bros to suit.

not quite sure what to price it up for, i now how much its cost me!!!!

unfortunately i never got around to finding a cam for it but i reckon with a cam and a good set up it could make 100hp easy!!

ok so I'm thinking £250 for the engine alone, no box, flywheel or carb set up

or £300 with the carbs

anyone interested?

J

just to explain why i chose this engine over a gt motor

i wanted the higher revving capabilities of the mech head!!!

Would you sell the bike carbs and manifold seperate?

Phil

do you recon it would run a nice 8500rpm once cammed and on differnt valve springs and maby with eleki ignition?? surley u could get more than 100bhp???

Oh yea it prob would make more i was just being conservative,

I reckon it could be a really quick motor once run in, plus iv done all the hard work for whoever buys it!!!!

Sorry phil atm id like to still be able to offer it as a package.

haven't recieved a pm josh??

any idea of price?

well i guess id like at least £250 for it but that would be without the carbs and inlet.

is the inlet a bogg brothers manifold

no its one i made with a friend, i got a flange laser cut from a template i made then welded on stubs for the silicone hose, not quite as shiney shiney but does the job just as well!

Any idea what compression ratio it is at the moment?

never really had the chance/time/knowledge to figure it out tbh,

but by the way it cranks over and has next to no over run after switching it off id say it must be pretty high.
