how easy is this to do? has anyone got any pics of theirs recovered? what materials to use?

simple as mate...it took me about 4 hours in total was well impressed with myself, below is my little helpful write up lol

A pillars - prize them away, start at the top (maybe need to wedge them out to start) there a bit tough to remove at the bottom as they sit just under the dash and its tight, but pull hard and theyll come out

B pillars - pull the plastic cover off the seat belt bit and beneath that youll see the screw holding them in (11/16th ratchet bit will get it off) from there just prize the panel off just the same as the A pillar

C pillars - pull the carpet at the sides down and youll see two screws holding the plastic bit in (star headed screw) unscrew these and pull the plastic bit up and out, you may need to lower your rear seats to make it easy. then, holding the grey plastic in place are two strange looking nuts, take a 10mm spanner to them and theyll come off easy, you then need to remove the seat belt the same, note the washer and spacer behind, then just pull the panel away.

Remove the grab handles and sunvisors.

open the boot and at the rear just inside there is a panel holding the roof lining in, this just pulls out

next just pull the roof lining down and remove it through the boot, fabric wise, i used a simple cheap fabric from a local shop (bit stretchy) and evo stick spray adhesive from wilkos. just spray on the adhesive, lay the fabric over and then smooth it out with your hand. do a little bit at a time and then cut off the excess....simples.

hope this helps, if youve got a sunroof let me know and ill tell you how to do that too if you need me too, as its pretty self explanatory, the cover slides out after removing the stoppers that are in place like the seats.

thanks for the reply mate and good write up but.......... i used to work ina vw garage so now how to get it out lol thanks anyway but my main point was how easy it was to recover, materials and if it went back in ok! yours looks really good btw what is it? did you use that 'glue in a na aerosol' stuff

its like a sweater material...sorry about the write up, i actually wrote it up for someone else so thought id post it up. putting it back in is easy as, you just need to put it back in through the boot and then start at the front, work it back into the seals and then reattach all the pillars

spray adhesive is easy to use, just spray on and leave it for a minute then start attaching the fabric, leave an edge and then when its on, turn it over and just apply it over the edge onto the reverse side to give a perfect finish
