i took out my old speakers on my mk4 only to find a wierd looking clip going to them, how do i change this so i can connect up my speakers i have, which i might add are only the speakers coz they are second hand, i have no wiring with them or nothing, only whats in the car already...

anyone help??

The clip has two wires going into it right?

Cut the clip off, so you have two seperate wires, then skin the end of them so you can see the naked wire inside and then connect these two wires to the two connector points on the new speakers.

do i noot need any connectors or anytihng ?

and how i know which way round the cables go, or dont it matter ?

You can use connectors to clip onto the metal connectors on the speaker, but I just twisted the wire into a thin point and fed it through the hole on the connectors and wrapped it round.

You can tell if the cables are the right way round, just put the wires to the connectors and turn the stereo on and see if they're working.

make sure you get the wires the correct way around else the speakers will be out of time with the music and not sound as good, the best option is to go to your local ICE shop and buy 4 meters of oxygen free cable as this will allow for better current through the cable. if you decide to only use the original cables then pull your sterio out and check on the back of it what cables are + and what wires are - and you can go from there.
