this might be an easier solution to finding a gearbox for my 8v engine...

I'm after a DQW box, and am struggling to find one. I've got a 1997 Polo 1.4 CL which needs a new box. would this engine drop straight in, or would any modifications be needed...

also could you please give details of condition of engine and box, any service dates, how long it has been sitting around for (and where), and any other information that you can make me aware of... That code is the 55kw engine, so about 75bhp.

What engine codes should i be looking for if i wanted the 100bhp version...?

Also does anyone know what other gearbox's i could use to replace my DQW box, as I'm struggling to find a box with the certain DQW code...
