Can anyone help me out

I'm looking to buy a 2002-2003 polo 1.2 and insurance quotes i have recieved are ranging from 2000-3800 at the low end !!!!

can anyone recommend anywhere that will do cheaper quotes for a standard car.

btw I'm 17 years old just turning 18 having just passed let's say

Dont be a complete bum hole your hole life. If you crash in to me your nice cheap insurance will be void so MY insurance company will have to pay for all the damage. Meening MY quote will go up more. The odd set of alloys etc and you might get away with pleading ignorance "they were on when I bought it, I didn't know".

Some people seem a bit funny about driving your car on your mums policy, the fact is that as long as the car is registered as your mums then you are safe as houses. Does anyone seriously believe that an insurance company can log who drives the car and when?

When I first rang the NFU to insure me to learn to drive they said I should register it as my mums and go down this route, it was £302 TPFT which I was over the moon with. And thats for a 12 seater 3.5 litre land rover. They also reccomended it when I got my van and they couldnt insure me as it was a commercial vehicle.

As for mods its a minefield really, you dont want to be caught with any mods because there is a chance to get bummed.

Some people also seem really anal about other people running into them with undeclared alloys on the car. The truth is that 95% of the time the insurance company will pay out to the 3rd party even if the driver has invalidated the policy. With disputes only for claims made by the policy holder. If your not fully comp there is no reason for the insurance company to look at your car anyway, its none of their business. The risk of running undeclared mods is trouble with the police these days, although you dont hear of many people getting done.
