You're wrong . I think you're referring to the former 25 year rolling tax exemption rules.

It depends on the insurer, but most will allow you to insure anything over 15 years old as a classic. There are no hard and fast rules. Most insist that it is not used as your primary vehicle.

HIC has to be over 15 years - i got my Mk2 golf with them
