thanks for the replys, I'm just stuck on the bit that holds the steering wheel on, the silly little bolt has sheared due to me damaging the threads on the shaft.

I think the guy who gave me it said the engine was from a jetta, so got my wondering what cc it is?

Also the body kit is from holland about 9 years ago, its very well made.

is there a haynes manual avaiable to view anywhere?

it had a scropion alarm syatem installed which i took off as the fob was lost and the ignition keys were missing hence me replacing the barrel and steering lock housing. This is why i cant get the splined couple with the large spring behind it off again...

Yeah looks to be an ABU you can see the 3rd engine bolt missing. Has the head been modded to fit the inlet or has the inlet been modded to fit the head? The GT inlet doesnt fit these engines and has to be modded to fit.

Probably a Vento rather than a Jetta that the engine came out of then?

right a update for you, working on this polo this week, going to renew disks all round and also going to sort the column and get a new battery for it. Still struggling on which engine it is so may have to look into further as i will need to know the cc size of it. I think it deffo a 1.6 ABU lump. The colour is like indian red but seeing another gt in the flesh, mine looks so light compared to it. Maybe see if i can get matt indian red and paint it on, seeing as i like the ratish look hehehe.
