also working offline on the engine post, it keeps crashing when i put it up and loosing it, so writting it in notepad lol

no update for a while sorry!! been really busy, plus next doors unit had a fire and its burnt out our eletrics!

looks ok for a 130K engine!

a shame the water doesnt look the same! looks to be a little rusty in there, will be getting as much of tht out as i can!

still looks good but needs a clean (water pump for those who dont know lol)

but got a wire drill bit and cleaned most of the crap off, needs a little sanding before i can give it a coat in silver paint

started taking the bottom end out, need to figure out how to get the oil pump pulley clain off now lol

and ofcourse the pump nozle thing

Forget the above if your running standard injection as you will be using the AEE loom which only has one sensor anyways.

I'm changinge the completly loom. got the origonal loom for the engine. will allow me then to have eletric windows and mirrors, need to buy golf mk2 eletric mirrors for the mechanism cant wait =] only 30 quid i think.

erm, it was but not yet fittd the N/S one. what i origonaly did with the n/s was cut all the prongs off, then cut it to size, then smothed it. the main problem with this is that the golf A pillars arnt as steep so the mirror sits right. but on the polos the A pillar are steeper. so the mirrror looks as if its sagging. putting a plate at the bottom to straighten it up. now need to bond the mounts to the flat plate in the right place. thts the hardest way!!

then for the O/S i cut 2 prongs off, left the centre one on. but had to drilla hole in the door this way. but was much easier!!

if you want ill need to redo them if i buy the eletric mirror units (not just the mecanism) and ill take a few pics next time of how i did em. but can write you a long ass description of how to do it....

ok, so i have been after a mk2 saloon for god knows how long! wanted this one...its back on ebay now...must have had a time waster lol ....well it was on ebay again...

so didnt buy it...no money...got a phonecall drom dorito (member on here) and there was a dude at his work in a blue polo mk3...

looks shit....but been stood for 5 years...still got tax disk in window...05/04 lol roof is actually red! lol

engine is in good nick...guy who oned it has taken it apart, just after a full rebuild after 80,000 mirror polished vales etc... so he knew what he was doing lol...he said he was going to G40 it but never got round to it

selling it on for scrap value...£50

not going to put my engine build into the mk3 coop now...sticking it in the saloon.

got a few bits up for sale soon from saloon....etc 5 speed 1.0l gearbox..will get it reconed first though!

fuck me, been a long time sinse i updated!

not much has changed really, cept MASSIVE engine problems

i was comming back from summerset, after seeing my dad in august, i was on the m5 at like 2 in the morning, overtaking a lorry doing 90, temp shot up, lost power, pulled over topped up with water, car wouldnt start....

rang a pickup. £350 to get back!!!!!!(didnt have AA and i no i should have) had to get back to lancashire....

so yeah diagnosis was...piston rings gave way....the gap between them was around 1.2mm!! was fucked.

so got a new engine off someone off here....mk2lowdown....good engine, held it for about a month...on way to E38....head gasket went....i was fumming...sorted that out..within a week...then on a sat night again a week later...it went again....by this time i was absolutly furious. turned out it had a dodgey water pump.

weeks have passed by this point waiting for diagnosis on what the hell was up. but by now this time my MOT was up. so now its just sat on 4 axle stand waiting for a new engine suspension...

but how she looked proir to this shit....

reason being, my car locked in a garage i had no access too...and when i did have access i had no cash lol.....

recently just spent £250 on parts for the car...

clutch kit,

4 new shocks,

ARB

front springs

NZ engine

gasket set

full service

all fliuds replaced

water pipes

bits and bats for MOT (not all collected)

some of these parts i had already, just thought id add em on...

still need...

radiator

screen washer pump

1 165/65/13 wheel and tyre

i beleive thats it...cept MOT n TAX

so i have decided to paint the bottom section of the bumpers...got a nackered bumper about so testing on tht...

think it will turn out quite well...thought i may have to smooth it first wi filler but maybe not...

also need to find a bit of pipe to go from my airbox to the SPI topcat

tis also an awkward angle too...boo....may just have to stick wi the shitty pipe and filter i have :(

finally got a chance to spray the otherside after about a year!! not only that have also taken off the rub stip glue..again also been a year....no recent pic but left a dirt mark above it and needs teecutting off...should be done tomorrow...but cant do drivers side jus yet, very dificult when its so cold :(

also cut off some of the exhaust pipe...hate seeing em. now its hidden :)

the paint did blend on the rain drain thingy though...had to reshape it as the bastards who moved it and left it wi no running gear etc wrecked it...dint get a pic before hand though....

I'm interested in the Golf mirrors. You say if you cut of the prongs but leave the middle one on and drill a hole then its just a straight swap? :) Or is there a lot more to it than that?

I need to redo them soon as i broke the mechanism trying to put electric ones in. When i get a chance ill do em and make a guide on them for u mate. Not too sure where and what mirror switch to use though... Any ideas??
