1976? polo coupe barn find

Featured Replies

i went to buy a motor bike of this old man today. he had a huge garage with a couple of old cars that had been lying there for about 24yrs. i can tell this by looking at the tax discs. anyway i also boubht his old sierra 2.3 diesel and this great looking car which was an old "n" reg 1976?? yellow polo coupe. the coupe only had 19,000 miles on the clock but it did need attention to the paintwork and maybe a couple of dents in the roof but apart from that it seemed fine as it was in a dry part of his garage which was under his house. when i got it home i managed to get it started by changing a few things for new. anyway i was wondering if these cars are worth anything or are they just a novelty for polo fans. any ballpark figure valuations for this car would be a great help for me. if its not worth it for me i think i will just scrap it. so please help :? as i am confused as to what to do with it

i was goint to say get some pics up as well, and where are you located ? might be interested after a project again!

geordiepete- post this up on mk1polo.com forum, an N reg means it's a very early on, really insterested to see some pics :D :D don't scrap it!

Great scott! Don't scrap it!

scrapping it would be criminal!

I'm sure someone will be interested 8-) i would be if i had some spare cash

Here's guessing a few hundred quid, depending on condition. I wouldn't be worried about a dented roof personally, but other things do matter.

I'm sure polo1 is the best place to put info & pics up,plus invites for enquiries, but they'd be very welcome here, too ;)

There's an echo in here... Don't scrap it!!!

Get some pictures up, if you don't want to commit, there are plenty of people here who would take it off your hands for some cash

get some pics up and start a bidding war!

if it really is rust free this could be worth getting on for a grand to the right person. Esp since it's a very early one, has it got chrome bumpers etc...? Get some pics up. Scrapping it would be criminal! If it comes to that I'll give you scrap value plus & beer money to take it away!

Would I be right to assume that you are in the Newcastle neck of the woods?

What gives you that idea Hayesey?:-p

I reckon it will have chromies 8-)

I bet its just like this
