this is exactly the kinda thing i love to see, people pushing the boundary's and doing stuff just because they can, kinda reminds me of the 27 litre V12 rover sd1. also this thread brings back memories of the vr6 mk4 polo thread, lots of people ripping it and saying it would never work, it'll handle shit blah blah blah...

Things like this happening is what makes the auto world evolve, its great to see someone try something different other than the usual g40, g40 turbo, valver lump..

and other than torque steer and maybe a bit of a squirm under load i cant imagine it being to bad...

he seems to have got it upright enough to sit in the bay, meaning the majority of the weight, which is centred over the crank would also be in the centre of the wheels....

In a straight line fun,.... on the corners , not so much... but thats not to say you cant make it handle... look what porsche did with the engine in the arse... people said cars cant handle with the engine back there (read ralph naders unsafe at any speed) but porker prooved em wrong

just like to say i own a 6n, i have a penis and i have a mother and a father with a chequebook! but i think this is mental! (in a good way) this just shows real engineering to fit it in and get it running!

I'm a valver owner no chequebook shit, and i can say this is an amazing fucking conversion, who gives a shit if it spins or handles shit, just think pulling up to a meet in that give a bit of 6n v8 love pop the bonnet and I'm sure a lot of people will be shitting themselves aswell as cumming, big respect to the bloke whose done this, haters are just people who dont have the balls or are jealous because they never thought of it or done it first , bring on the updates!!!!

Big heavy engine in the front of a car doesn't straight away mean it won't handle. A VR6 Mk2 Golf can handle very well if you are sensible with the suspension - you can't just bolt on off the shelf coilovers, as it's not exactly an off the shelf car! This alloy block V8 in the front of a Polo doesn't have to be the worst handling car ever, as long as a bit of effort is made on the engine. I bet a fibreglass bonnet and wings would probably bring the weight balance pretty closely back to the normal iron block lumps that came from the factory. The Buick/Rover alloy V8 was quite a common conversion to Cortinas and Capris etc a few years ago, and weighed less than the 4 pot Pintos that they generally replaced, and a shit load less than an Essex V6!

If it's set up properly it should handle fine.

What a build thread. And width wise I'm shocked to notice the whole setup is shorter then a KR conversion as I had to chop my chasis legs to buggery when I was still attempting it! My dreams dead though I hope this works out.

More updates needed and everyone who hates on this just keep your mouths stum! Even if it does spin up and handle shit who the fuck cares. The moana lisa isn't pretty but its still fucking art!!!!!
