Hi all, my fuel pump problem started last night, driving happily then it cut out, 5 mins later it started again and cut out.

turns over nicely but nothing, now it won't start at all, the fuel pump is getting no power at the fuse, the relay clicks on and off, have tred diffrent relay,

The car starts fine with a piece of wire between the fuse for the horn and the fuel pump fuse, the fuse under the bonnet is fine also

its paining me now

if any one could shed some rays i would apreciate it

Update, i have a fault code reader from gendan, i had faults on 3 injectors, when you let the code reader cycle trough the fault codes 3 times it clears them from the ecu,

it has started and run for ten mins (spin around the block), turned it off and on nothing reader says fault on injector 1, clear it it starts again,

is it like some sort of safe mode?

i have taken the battery lead of, gonna leave it for a few hours

and see what happens

UPDATE: turns out it was just the fuel pump relay, it was intermitent fault, the injector faults where logged coz their power is from the same relay, the new relay wouldnt work while the injector faults where logged in the ecu, left the battery off overnight put in the new relay and bingo!

the relay cost me £24 from vw (it was the one stamped 167)
