Here is my pretty much standard '03 Mk6.

I love it way too much, yet the scam that is insurance is preventing me from playing around with it too much.

Hence why she's not lowered (I can't wait to though).

Just bought new headlight unit as one had frosted up... xenon HIDs here I come.

I got a great qoute from Quinn and they're not all that bad..

£1390 for a 1.4 with any modifications (including stuff like air filter exhaust etc etc )

on my own policy...

I don't geddit, the only difference is that I haven't got pass plus and that shouldn't make £500 difference should it? Plus... I have a 1.2 whereas you have a 1.4. Gahhh.

Gonna hopefully do some multicar policy soon so get the wheels back on, and get cracking on some more mods...

Depends on more than just the car. Depends on location, where it's parked, what occupation you have, how many miles you do etc.

It's pointless asking people for who's cheapest, because different companies will offer different rates for different people.

For example, i'm with Morethan, and it's 500 quid under my dads policy. I'm 19, passed 2 years and 3 months ago, and had one accident before I passed when I was learning.

I'm with Quinn aswell, was it your specific policy which they said any modifications are allowed or does it apply to all? :-D

Also, i didnt think lowering would make much difference on your premium, if any at all?

I'm with quinn, they can be pricey, but the benefits for young drivers are great, 3rd party on other people's cars, and a good mod policy- They only charge for performance enhancing mods- ie Lowering and engine mods!

They quoted me an extra £150 for lowering, too much for one mod imo! Thats with 1 yr NCB

I used to be with Quinn during my 'provisional days' , £1400pa for my 1.4 se on my own policy... Passed my test they wanted to bump it up by £1600!!! ..not to but up by!! so £3000 WTF! fuk that lmao

Woah woah woah... dont let the fact it says on your certificate that you can drive other peoples car's 3rd party, think that you can.. in the small print it says you have to be 25+

i quote off their website:

If your certificate of insurance says so, we will also cover the policyholder for your liability to other people while you are driving any other private motor car which you do not own or have not hired or leased. This benefit applies to full licence drivers only. We will only cover you if:

The vehicle is not owned by your employer or hired to you/them under a hire-purchase or lease agreement;

You currently hold a full European Union (EU) licence;

The use of the vehicle is covered in the certificate of insurance;

Cover is not provided by any other insurance;

You have the owner’s permission to drive the vehicle;

The vehicle is in a roadworthy condition;

You still have your vehicle and it has not been damaged beyond cost-effective repair; and

Your occupation is not restricted by our acceptance criteria.

You must be 25 years of age. Age is based on your age at the inception/renewal date of your policy

Shit, sorry mate. Haven't been on this for a while!

Yeah, they're 6000k xenons. Love them, but occasionally get a few flashes from other drivers (they have a lot of glare)...

I think the 8000k are too blue and you get less light output... and it's more obvious to the rozzas that it's a xenon kit.

Alloys look mint were they a straight fit ? I have 8000k on my polo and I think they are perfect .
