We just bought my girfriend a nice little 1.3 CL polo 6n 95, I'm more of a Golf Gti man myself so I'm not to clued up on these.

I want to change the front brakes, i havnt yet had a look at them but gsf and euro lists different brakes for the 1.3 to the 1.0 and 1.4.

The brakes they list for the 1.3 are just bog standard cheapo discs. But for the other varients they list the brembo max and others.

Same for brake pads, they dont list the EBC items for the 1.3.

So is there a difference? Perharps the 1.3 has solid not vented or something. Havnt got the car near by atm to have a look.

I know that this car isnt the fastest car in the world, and might be overkill but its nice to have something that works up front. Plus i wil be driving it in 2 weeks when my golf goes in for a respray (just fitted vento front haha)

to be honest the brakes on a 6n 1.3 are solid discs so theres not really anything available performance wise.

a set of fresh discs and pads will be well enough for that car, anything else if you could find it would be overkill and a bit of a waste of time.

Heard the CL uses some of the older mk polo parts? including brakes.

ECP list a solid and vented disc, would the vented fit? as its obvs wider

Yea should do you may need to sand the pads down tho if the ones for the vented discs dont fit!

Had a look today, and they are the vented discs on there now. So will get those.

Should hopefully fit with new pads. Or wil make them fit, haha

Spend the day swearing due to brakes pad fitment.

got the ones for a 1.3 90-94 polo (4 identical), wrong shape and too deep for the calliper so went to halfords who listed 3 types. so got the set that looked the same, nope.

went back and took the other 2 types and nope too deep, in the end got a set of G40 ones and they fitted perfectly.

I've seen 3 types of pads listen on ECP. Which is annoying.
