The car is as already stated a Gti mk5 bottom end mated with a mk4 16v head. so a 1.6 16v bottom end and a 1.4 16v head. The car has had so much time and money put in to it its untrue.

You would be and to not buy this car at this price if you have the money, sure a different box can be put on that will cope with the strain for a cheap price.

what should i put it up for then? also the rear ends totaly striped and the body work isnt at its best but it shure looks the same as when he had it!

wish i had £900 of disposable cash, this is one of my fav polo's loved it when dunn had it. just hope it goes to a good home

I'm currently trying to sell an s reg 1.6 polo. it has faults with it, no mot or tax, but i beleive the gearbox is fine, also in south wales about 10 miles from cardiff. Just thought it might be ideal to get spare parts off. any more info send me a msg.

sonds like your having issues with this. iv been watching or ages wondering why people haven't bought it. has the gearbox got warrenty? why not have it fixed for free uder warrenty? how much MOT is left on, wouldnt it be better to let it pass that and then sell the car with a new gearbox and 12months MOT. I'm sure youll get a bit for it then.the only other thing puting me of buying it is, most people on here could replace a gearbox. and how come they haven't bought it lol. if my polo sells. i might buy this depending on MOT and gearbox status.

also if i took it to a garage for a new gearbox. i wouldnt have a clue which gearbox to ask for.which would be the best one?!

if it has long MOT, and is fixale. id ask for trade o my 1.4 8v polo.

well the only issue is the gearbox and i would fix it but i just dont have the know how, time or money!

yes the gerbox has about 10 months warranty left on it but its in a shop in portsmouth and theres no way i could get the car down there but iff you could then the problems solved.

the car is motd till the end of june and i dont see why it wouldnt pass just the gearbox needs fixxing!

iff you want mate you can have the car for 700bucks! god feels like I'm giving it away for that money!

hmm yer but where abouts are you based? id have to drive from derby to you. then smehow get the car to porstmouth. hoping they could do it that day, and then collect it.if not id have to go to a garage to pay £500 for a new gearbox myself. making the car £1200 iv paid. and then hope it passes MOT. wouldnt the gearbox of a GTI fit into it, since thats the botom half enginee, and wouldnt it hold the power better?

yeea gti gearbox i haven't got a clue your better off asking someone who knows.

also car should easy pass mot once the gearbox is done!
