I currently have an uprated headlamp loom and some decent bulbs but was wondering if a HID kit will be of any advantage to me? Anyone done this and can recommend a set at all?

Is that to do with the glass? Think i read that the beam gets scattered so not too good!

I've got an uprated wiring loom and Philips Vision Plus bulbs in my Mk3 and that throws plenty of light on the road. I ran HID-style bulbs for a bit and got pretty sick of everyone flashing me to tell me to dip my lights. It's easier to stay legal tbh.

I dont know how you can say that TBH, as I've ran Bi Xenons myself in non projector type lights and find that they where better than any others for anti glare that I had tried.

If fitting HIDs we always recommend you have your beam pattern tested after you have fitted them to make sure your actual headlamps are positioned correctly, if not your going to be dazzling other drivers regardless what bulbs you have fitted.

I'm with nathan on this and i find most modern cars with projectors are a lot more dazzling as the beam is too intense.

I've had them fitted for 6/7 months and not had any problems, had the beam checked on them and police pulled me to check them and said they were inside legal limits by a long shot (corsa B behind me had to strip them out there and then as they were dazzling and only had a low beam) and I've had the car checked by VOSA.

With the mk3 headlamps you still have a beam you can aim, which is what they are looking for when testing.

My fog lamps are also HID, been pulled for those but that was for having them on when not needed.

i have the in pro ones you can see what they look like on a white mk3 on my thread , they arnt to evryones taste but i swear by them matched up to hid s they really are brill

"Xenons Online" - meaning you sell these conversion kits, so you're not exactly going to say anything else are you?

The official line is that they're not legal, at all. Projectors or not.

In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.

So technically if you're converting to HID headlights you'd need to be fitting the entire headlight unit at the same time. Mk3 Polos didn't have the option of HID headlights.

I stick with my argument that it's easier to stay legal tbh.

Sorry I had misread the posts previous to that one, I took it that you was saying you had bi xenons and was blinding everyone. However you just said you was blinding everyone, and this is why we recommend having a beam pattern test after the installation. I was only expressing that in my opinion I find the bi-xenon hi/lo kits produce a very good beam pattern.

the h4-3 are the best tbh thats what I'm running and you dont need projectors mine got though a mot fine

Yes those are the same principle as our H4 Hi/Lo flex kits, however ours come with 2 years warranty.

Plus we use the high quality canbus ballasts on all of our kits not only thekits other companies charge more for.

No you should be ok with the wiring loom you already have, if you fit them and you have trouble firing the bulbs up this could be down to the lack of power reaching the ballasts. If thats the case youwill then need a Battery Wiring Harness. Id try a set first before getting the battery harness though.

Between 5000k and 6000k.

is 4300 the whitest white?

and is 3000k just a waste?

do i need to drill anything in/on to the headlight to make these work?

4300k is daylight

its not fashion or what they look like I'm bothered about

this mk3's have terrible headlights and i want to make them as usefull as i can

4300k is the brightest temperature availible in HIDs, as said above 4300k is the nearest thing to direct sunlight. This is what makes things so clear at night.

i've been looking around at some prices and they vary from cheap as £30 up to £200 ?

can you tell me if theres any difference in the conversion kit or quality of the equipment?

Ebay seems to sell alot of them, but I'm worried of being sent a picture of them or something

I wouldnt worry about being sent only a picture, ifyou purchase from ebay you will "probably" receive a kit of some kind.

You'll find the more expensive kits come with longer warrantys, good returns procedures good after sales and customer support. (like replying to a question at 2:27am.

The cheaper kits normally lack some of the above.
