what is this key used for?

My mates got a gear lock thats actually bolted to the car, maybe it had one at some point???

Its like a steering lock i would have thought but its normally fixed into the car at the side of your gear stick and coloured yellow. The key may have been for an old steering lock and the previous owner for got to take it off?

its for a big yellow steering wheel lock. same key as mine, previous owner prob forgot to take it off the car keys :) lol
