personally i would spray a bonnet with a can, find a can that is campatable with a clear cote out of a tin and finish it off with that.

it will cost under £100 to get the bonnet sprayed and its worth it.

No just by looking at it from a phone pic!

If its been resparayed, you'l need to get it matched tbh, look up local auto paint places.

If its not, the code will be in the boot on a 4" square white sticker.

Custom Paint, Then you will probably have to go to the people who sprayed it, to get the correct paint code, because you will not get exactly the same colour from a bog standard rattle can.

If it has been repsrayed it will be a different 'Compound/mix' to a standard can so it will not give you the same result.

If it was a custom paint job and no one recorded the specs of the color then you are in deep... s@$t just like me. I had a custom paint job on my polo and now I have serious trouble in getting the right color in any repairs I do on the car. Such is my fustration that I am seriously thinking of respraying the whole car again . Any way only the shop-man who did the job can tell you whats the color combination he used.

looked in boot of car today code is lc9z black magic pearl. sat with a bottle here from halfords cost me 9.99 touch up paint or spray. check it out worth trying. iam sure thats the original colour on you car mate r u sure its a custom colour.

I've bought that paint mate and touched up the paint on my car, the pictures are in this thread.

think a fourm is the worsed place for this advice.

6n paint code is in the boot. paper sticker in the wheel well area.

check the code and try say.. halfords for the same paint on that code if its way way out the car might have had the colour changed.

check the cars not been painted before, the halford paint (offthe code) should be the same as the engine bay and under the rear seats and carpet.

if its no where near the same colours say in the engine bay as the the out side panels of the car.. its been painted. cant see any one striping and repainting the inside of a 6n unless its a show car.

YES HAS BEEN PAINTED..if it has been painted and the colour is unkown the only thing to do is to get a body shop to use a camera on the paint that will read the colour close up and get the near match... or for some to look few all the colour chips and get a near match.

say the car is damaged on the wing.. the full wing will be painted.. the door next to the wing will be painted partway and dusted in then polilished out later... this means the colour will fade in to the door so you are not left wit a slightly odd colour on the wing

^^what u dont want is like when u see cars wit differnt shades of silver like they got the door from a scap yard lol.

that should help u get going a bit. but if you are going to do as many panles as it sound get a body shop to do it or do a lot of reseach first.. get some books on car body repair/paint.

if you allready started then dont get fed up you want the car looking 'right so start again after reading the books and real research lol.

all work is in the prep and the final polishing.. it only takes to mins to paint.

i can take all day checking colours, sanding, cleaning, masking... but then puting the paint on is the easy bit :-D

bonnets not been sanded out so its flat and smooth= looks like this --------i_______i----- insted of this -----\_____/---

need to be smooth no shapness.

needs more paint coz u can still see it and paint the area around the repair.

door.. not flated out the scrach i think, the paints just sat init so.. a low bit where its sunk in.

paints dry.. paint from to far away and not wet enough on each coat.

try wet flating wit 2500wet and dry then polishing the hell out of it wit cuting compound and finnishing pollish if u just want it halfright.

id say like before get some books and start again.

You will never get it perfect. the paint will never match perfectly. Especially as you dont know the code.

If its metallic its EXTREMELY difficult to get it to blend in correctly. Even a pro will say this.

To get even a half decent finish on the blending you need to lacquer the ENTIRE panel, not just the bit you have painted.

The bonnet, doesn't look like you have done a good job with the filling, I can still see a very clear dent (unless its a reflection/the light)

In the door, you haven't properly flatted back the scratch, you need to sand it right back, so the scratch is nowhere to be seen. Then possibly use some high build primer on it to get it a bit higher, sand it all lots again until its all even then spray it all black again. Then you need to rub that down a bit with a very fine paper (the entire door) and then lacquer it all.

Even then, the door will look odd to the rest of the car.

If you want it looking mint you either need a pro to do the side of the car and blend it properly. Or do that yourself.

But just covering the patch needed in paint will never look 100%

On the other hand, you could just polish the crap out of what is there now and get it as good as you can. And live with it?

I think you need to practice filling,sanding,priming,spraying,wetsanding and polishing on something like an old bonnet from a scrappy. Hit the bonnet with a hammer and practice,practice,practice.
