first things first...

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?

yeah it does, sorry forgot to say that!!

Headgasket?

have you checked for any oil in your coolant? or any of the other tell tale signs?

could be a number of things really. is it turning over normally?

are all the leads sparking still?

is there fuel getting into the system? (any blockages ect?)

try the coil and check that you are plugs are sparking

bit of a random thought!

Right,so your pump primes so hopefully you should be getting fuel. Next thing is to check for spark. I'd firstly test the coil is sparking by removing the central lead on the dizzy cap, push a thin screwdriver in the end and then placing it close to a metallic part on the car (manifold or engine hoist point etc) and get a friend to turn it over while you look for the spark.
