at the moment I'm strenghtenin the car i have got the roll cage as you can see and I'm also now havin the rear strut brace and a few strenghtenin bars made to go else were in the back :) will update again as soon as this has all been welded in

are you doing this all yourself? if so you got some big balls mate, theres a lot of work ahead. good look with it mate and i look forward to updates

me and a mate tom are doin this as for hes a mechanic and i do body work so it all ties in nice :) a mate liam is helpin with fabricatin parts like strut brace ect as for hes a shit hot welder :-D its all a slow on going progress tho its gotta be right :)

it does i swear it does the golf is 2.8 12v and carrado is 2.9 24v :)

In the UK the Mk3 Golf came with the 2.8 12v VR6 and the Corrado had the 2.9 12v VR6. Mk4 Golf has the 2.8/3.2 24v VR6...

^^ how come your not putting a 1.8t in it?? Surely you get more performance for your money? And isnt it easier to drop a 1.8t lump than a vr6?

ha ha, lol this seems to be the in transplant atm, i would rather the older vr6 :) but eather will be fun to do and have a good outcome. just make sure you upgrade the brakes too.. lol good luck mate.

well the guy with the red 6n with the vr got shat on by a 1.8t, if your making all the effort why not build something that is going to be impressivly quick? (guy with the VR is now turboing it i heard as he was that disapointed)

thats true, I've read the thred, will be epic. but where will you stop with the power?. an even faster 1.8t/vr6t will come along.. etc lol i supose you just build an engine with power you can handle/enjoy. but never the less anything will be beter than standard.. ha ha keep us posted mate :)

if it was all about performance then no one would do gt conversions cause they would all be doing G40 ones, its not always about which is the fastest. i'd have a vr6 over a 1.8t in some thing like this any day, and i've owned a vr6 so i know there not all that, but it could still easily loose your license for you and the sound is addictive. so what if he gets over taken by some one in a 1.8t, at least he'll have done what he wanted to do and he did it for himself, after all that's what building a car is all about ain't it? building it how you want it?

cheers guys love a kick up the arse sometimes haha :-D i dont no why iv chosen the vr6 tbh i will have it turboed but thats all to come yet i just like the idea off a 2.9 v6 turbo thats not why I'm doin because it sounds good haha they just have soooooo much touqe and the sound is great especialy with a big dump valve and life it more easyier with a vr6 as for iv gotta mate whos doin a vr6 conversion now and there seems to be a few good heads in here with alot of help

at the end off it all i can sit there look at something witch i have done that not most people have and have a bloody good time init i just want a project so iv got something to do in my spair time and as for i work in a body shop it helps with that aswell its all good practise aswell as for got some good plans for body work :) will keep you guys upated at the minute I'm weldin in all the roll cage strut braces ect :)
