yes mate its a 1.3 :) and i got the 16v seat with the car wen i bought it

cant wait to get crackin on with this but asfor i need a car iv got to put this on hold for a bit but still got plentty to do so there will always be updates :)

this is how things stand

I'm now in the prosses off strenghenin the car roll cage / strut bars ect

then il be movin on to fittin the engine if your wounderin why the rear strut is half green its because its etch primer then iv pu'd around the welds I'm still to do the other side just need to do one more weld then its done.

the roll cage I'm now havin some plates made up so i can bolt it in il be sealin all the seems up inside the car with pu to smoothin it all off when engines in and runnin il be paintin inside and havin it carpeted out so il update asoon as more has progressed :)

yeah I'm doin the whole hog with this asfor i work ina body shop it makes life easyier :-D

Wouldn't be my choice for an engine conversion but VR6's really are awesome, that sound is too addictive though! Good to see people doing what they want, and it's going to be a lot of fun for sure once you've set it all up. What sort of power you aiming for? What other plans you got for the chassis/brakes? LSD?

ha! id love an LSd on my conversion....but doubt u can get one to fit....saying tht people trackday GT cars all the time so i with my GT gearbox... i could do it cant i?

I'm stickin with the 6n front just havein 6n2 rear only reason beein is that mk5 rear lights go better with the mk5 boot rather than the mk4 i have been thinkin about a mk5 front conversion but then whats the point asfor i might aswell have bought a mk5 instead but there all good ideas at the minute just wanna hurry up and fit the engine

how are you going about mounting the engine? are you modifying the subframe to take the vr6 lump or modifying the vr6 subframe to fit the polo? (if that's even possible?). also how are you strengthening the chassis? just with the roll cage and strut braces or are you taking it further than that?

we've got a polo lying around that were planning on doing some thing like this with but were just in the coming up with ideas stage atm, still not even 100% on which engine were going with yet lol.

not sure yet dude gotta compair the both subframe but either one will be modifies i might modifie the vr6 subframe as for i want to widen the car abit and il flair my arches front and rear but i will only know wen i compair the both :-D and yeah dude thats all I'm doin front n rear struts with roll cage

at least you have the option of modifying your original subframe, our polo wasn't fitted with such advanced technology lol, we're probably gonna go with the vr subframe so we can use the wishbone set up and what not from the golf plus it would save us time and money on having custom drive shafts made as we could just use the golf ones.

i'll be keeping a close eye on this thread for updates, keep up the good work mate

Doing a similarly contravercial swap at the moment also, not in a polo though.

hiya mate if you need any help or tips with the conversion just drop me a pm. things get a bit tricky. i had to use trial and error through out but now i know the tricks i will be glad to advise.

Awesome stuff dude. 1.8T's are piss boring to drive, rapid as feck tho... Vr6's to me personally are just amazing though despite generally being slower. The noise is just
