Hey, i'm having a spot of bother getting my rear nearside drum MOT worthy.

The handbrake is working fine for it, i'm just having trouble with the foot brake it's showing very little effort.

I've bled the line for it, and that has not helped.

Any ideas?

you may need to replace the cylinder and/or the rear brake hose

if handbrake works and it bleeds but doesnt work, the cylinder will have seized.

It isn't the cylinder, i've had the drum off. And it is moving nice and fluent when i touch the brakes.

Actually, i've just had another look, and the cylinder is only working on one side(with the drum off) I take it the other side works when the opposite shoe pushes against the inside of the drum?

yea, try and free it of by moving it from side to side, if not you will have to replace it

if its only working on one side - then the cylinder is seized can either free it up or £8ish for a new one

So it seems, i've just replaced it. Lets just hope it passes in about an hours time.
