Comments:

Well I've had my valver for just over a month now. Been driving for 2 years, and wanted a Polo since I passed my test. First time round, I couldn't find a decent 6n for under £1800 so I got a Fiat Bravo to run around in for a year. Next car was a Vectra 1.8 SRi, but sold that because of how much petrol it needed to run. Found this for sale on here, drove straight down to Chesterfield and picked it up :D. Undoubtedly the best car I've owned so far.

Future plans for the car are to get the roof, bonnet, and wing mirrors wrapped in gloss black vinyl. Also, I've got some Corbeau GTB front seats ready to go in when I get round to it. I've just put the Platin wheels on, and am contemplating whether or not to colour code the centres and get the lips mirror polished.

Ok, this is well overdue an update. A lot has happened in the last year I've had it. I'll do a proper update with pics later, but here's a sneak peek for now:

AHHH. If you were respraying it i would of swapped you a 16v bumper!

Liking the yellow though....

Looks good, should of showed it off at tatton.

was gutted I missed Tatton :( Had a football match the day before and my leg got mashed. Couldn't walk on sunday, let alone drive. Was it a decent day? Last year was awesome, especially with the weather.

did a bit of work on the car today. i fitted some 6n2 rear lights, and refitted my bike carbs on the original bike rubbers, instead of pikeytech silicone hoses.

i also painted and fitted my 6n2 stubby mirrors, and painted my front bumper + grille surround. i got sick of the satin yellow looking dirty all the time, so am going for gloss yellow now.

i think the bumper has come out ok for a first coat. will need a couple more coats and cutting back to finish it. what does everyone think?

cheers

Scrolling down the page, loved the green...

But the yellow looks even better!!

and yeah its always more satisfying having gloss than satin, more rewarding after cleaning/ polishing!

Looks sweet. Agree with the above. Satins just doesnt give you enough satisfaction after a clean and a polish.

Sweet polo mate, love the yellow, this thing actually looks better without a smoothed bumper.

Bump for a top dog polo!

Love the yellow - it's really grown me. At first it reminded me of a Seat, in a bad way.

I seem to have acquired half a set of wheels.... other pair are en-route from deutschland as we speak.

sneak preview of one mid-way through stripping

For some weird reason looking at that alloy sparked of a random tv show quote

"I'm Tezmc and stripping alloys is a dirty job."

Discovery realtime ftw

Oh and more pics!!!

A few months down the line and here's how it ended up:

184802_10150420619970384_606115383_17435

Didn't want to have to do it, but no interest in it as a full car meant I had to break it

Just saw this thread (mainly because i'm recycling some of her parts)... did you do the yellow and then matt black resprays yourself?

NOOOOOO :(

  • Author

:( I feel bad about scrapping her. I learnt about fixing stuff on it, including bike carbs and other fun along the way.

Yeah I did both resprays myself. The satin yellow was using Montana graffiti paint, then I used Rustoleum roll on paint for the gloss yellow. The satin black was just with Simoniz cans I got off ebay.
