Hi Richard!

yay polo peters still about :-D ! even if you own a golf your still a polo man at heart ;) !

yep its all your fault ross the boost and G smiles was instant even if it was snowing like mad at the time. :p

Yeah, I´m infrequently here at CP.

So many new (user)names and no interest in seeing their MkIVs. But so much the better to see my ol´ friend Ricardo still poloing. :-D

Steilheckpolo i know what u mean.

unfortunately I'm a golf owner aswell now, but do come here and check up any progress on the handful of mk3's i still love on here. and just like rich said, I'm a polo man at heart aswell lol.

hows u doin anyways rich? havnt spoke to you since summer time. rich ud be disappointed in these mk3 golf owners, as hard as i drum in OEM+ bits and bobs, they just dont care, I'm finding it hard to get factory goodies for my goof. it just isnt the same being away from the polo sence.

I envy you Richard :)

All I could find for my mate and his mk3 golf was a hella grille, rare item but no other items are readily available really. OEM stuff for MK3's is a cool game :)

That looks really great! :)

While since i updated this so here we go...

the saloon had its MOT last week so all seemed well but got a oil leak advisory which turns out to be the crankshaft at the timing belt side so think thats a engine out job so thats a bit of a bummer.

but more positively the loons been more OEMed.

new bits are:

VOTEX finger scratch plates,

chrome door handle inserts

Factory rear speeker pods with modern speekers modified to fit in them which was a lucky find in a ancient audi 80 in a near by scrappy.

fog lights

and my personal favourite of all time headlamp washers!

I also tried a set of 14" BBS on as they would allow for some "lowerage" but they just didnt look right.

Also picked up a nice Grey GT interior so might fit the front seats and see about getting the rear backrest trimmed to match if there is enough patern material on coupe one to do the tartan infill bit.

Heres the pics:

Trial fit 14"BBS but resulted in a "fail" i think so they were sold on.

polo love for MOT time even in some misserable traditional scottish weather

IMG_3737.jpg

Headlamp washer action, cant beat it, look at all the water dripping off the bumper thats why u need 7.5L of the stuff!!

IMG_4004.jpg

day out at the highest village in scotland Leadhills (it really is in the middle of no where and my wheel arches were sore after all the scrubbing).

IMG_3707.jpg

satin black votex finger plates, (think they also did them in a chrome finish)

IMG_3132.jpg

the wee Audi/vw speeker pods

and the squarebacks now been off the road 2 years :crybaby: but its 65% finished i recon and has been donating bits to the loon as its been getting done up...

Progress is mightly slow but just taking my time with it so it will be finished when its finished as i tried setting a completion date but money, time, work and cant be arsed factor kept kicking in.

so the stuff for re doing all the front suspension it taking shape just a few bits left to get and a few bits to get powder coated. (this is most of the last years hoarding...)

IMG_3463.jpg

powder coated factory tank with all the attachments except the charcoal canister crap.

IMG_3448.jpg

so think next is repainting and undersealing all the floor and wheel arches before i redo all the brake lines etc and fit the rear load sensor valve as i missed that out the first time arround.

then last month a wee GT squareback came up for sale locally but it was accident damaged (front slam panel, bonnet etc) but was low miles...

so me and 2 of my mates 13K_poloGT Ross and john went to break it as it was down as a write off that couldnt go back on the road.

so we did well and raped it massively off all parts and had a good laugh to so thanks guys!

here is the before middle and after shots and ross trying to carry it home as he dont like polos dying...

Was at a local VW show and found this...

it used to be maroon last time i saw it but its now "glamaflashed" i belive is the correct name on the street for it. personally think it looked far better before but heyho.
