I painted my pickup matt nato green. Never going to call it a rat its just that its bloody easy to lay the paint down and the finish doesn't really matter. Paint on the car was funked before i got it. I'll do as i please :-)

People should just have fun modding their cars as they wish and not have to place what they do in a category and label it something.

I like the funked looking old beetles that are on their hoops though. Whatever they want to call themselves i bet they look sick as they cruise past you.

P.S. Looking at this bora and the previous posted Golf. I think I can see a "refined rat" look coming along. Similar to the style of Jimmy's Corsa B when it had the rusted bonnet. In my opinion, that was refined rat considering the rest of it was impoeccable and the rusted bonnet just set it apart from the rest.

The section for the majority of these wannabe rat-lookers is 'idiot-look' IMO. Trying to copy rat look cars by putting a roofrack and a rusty bonnet on a new car is fail. Its not at all rat look, in any way, shape or form. so it shouldn't be put into that group.

different forms of rat look? you mean the different tag's people give there car to desperately try and fit it in the rat look scene? if it don't fit, they create a name to try and make it fit.

take this nu-rat tag that people are banding about for example, it seems to be take a any car (most seem to have very good body work) add a rusty bonnet and roof rack. the problem with this is if a cars not got fucked body work then how can it be a rat? having fucked body work is THE key ingredient to any rat look car, if you have a rat look car thats not got ratty body work then its just a look car

so as a provayor of rat look 'subsections', can you name them all? baring in mind by the time you read this at least 3 more will of been made up by people some where desperately trying to fit there cars in to the scene.

But like everything, the trend spreads and people badge up their cars as hoodride when they clearly arent...

actually some how Rolo keeps pulling it off too, even his mk3 golf managed it, but he doesn't seem to stick to the 'rules' of forced rat, he just makes his own

Some of the cars on there are pretty nice, like the V8 morris minor and the ford Model A Truck. I generally look at it from car to car basis, a fair few do look wank on there, but youve got to appreicate the effort.
