Paint looks like a really good job, get some close ups!

How come you didn't do any body mods though? :?

  • Author

I considered it but decided against it as I'm not really into body mods on older cars. I like the angles on it as it is. Just wanted it all tidied up in a fresher colour.

Also as it was my uncle doing it and he did it for a lot cheaper I didnt really wanna take the piss lol. Just got him to colour code all the little bits and bobs and smooth off the bumpstrip holes/aerial/badge holes.

looks a really good job, although it's a bit TOO white for me, needs some darker contrast thrown in there imo :)

The bananas Pacmon, the bananas have holes behind them ;)

Looking at these pictures is getting me exited. Doing mine in 17 hours :D

reminds me of my old mk3 :tear:

:D

Get yourself a German rear light so you lose the reverse light. Will make it a bit more symmetrical and tidy up the back end a whole lot! Other than that looking good. I've always had a soft spot for white mk3s.

That was my next plan but I'm having a bit of a nightmare finding one. Somebody said try german ebay but as I'm quite aware my german is atrocious. Any ideas mate?

Yea I'm loving the paint, subtle but looks clean :)

i expect you can translate the text somehow.

car's looking nice, do you know what size the tailpipe is? :D cheers

Yea its a bit of a marmite exhaust. Its a 3inch stainless steel jobbie my mate made for me.

I had one similar on my 205 rallye and it was super bubbly. This ones the same, but I'm not sure if it suits the polo yet. Its quite clean looking though I guess. Simple but loud, maybe a bit too much lol

ahh i dont mind it, think it looks ok. obviously i haven't heard it though  was just wondering so i know what size exit to go for when i make a purchase :D so cheeeers

Right so I've actually been rather busy recently doing bits and bobs to the polo. Had a whole new set of brakes (discs/pads front and shoes rear) as they were squeaking like mad and the discs were warped. Also lowered it on a phil j kit 60/40. And then I went and had my windows tinted. Fabulous!

Couple of shit pics (really need to find my digital camera charger)

how it stands at the moment

Next plan is to notch the back down a little although I've heard its better to leave it on the middle joint otherwise it handles like shit. But time will tell need to let it settle a little first

Then its gunna be graffiti carnage on the roof and some new wider wheels. Also got some cool ideas for the interior.

By the way, remind me to never change the front suspension on an old polo again. RUST! Angle grinder has never been so busy.

Cheers

Matt

Also forgot to report that I'm taking the bumpers back to black and putting a white stripe in them. Theres just too much white at the moment.

copy cat  lol!

Looks good dude! specially now its lowered

I aint gunna lie man u did inspire it. A few people said they werent sure about the colour coded bumpers and I have to say after a month of driving it I agree. I've stolen you are idea bro. I'm sorry. xoxox

haha, no probs dude!

tbh, I stole the idea kinda off a member on here. He posted a thread up asking if it was do-able (painting the strip instead of using tape) so I tried it to find out

I just want to know if anyone has done it before me?

Paint Flaking On Yours Bumpers..

Its Because Your Paint Hassent Keyed To Your Bumper..

I.e Not Scotched Or To Fine Sand Paper.. Idealy 320..

A Sticker Would May Couse More Problems..

But You Carnt Mone At That Price..

Looks Well Tho..
